22.01.2022 What do your boots go through in a day ?? I have tried so many brands of boot and chap or top boots at different price ranges over the last few years and none can stand up to my days ! 20.01.2022 Appreciating the little things in life at Birre jumping stables today

20.01.2022 Another stage of fencing at Birre Jumping stables was completed over the past few week ends . The front paddocks ! So we are currently up to 15 safe secure paddocks for ours and our clients horses This time on the boundary fences we chose to add ( to our usual three strands of Hotcote ) a HOTTOP plus top rail for added security. We chose this addition for a boundary fence and for under gum trees (that love to drop branches ) due to its added strength and durability , keeping our horses safely inside their paddocks . Check out the demo videos on just how horse safe this fencing option is on the Horserail Australia Facebook page .

18.01.2022 One of the many valuable nuggets of information to come from our last chat night "You are better off jumping 10cm too small for three weeks longer, than jumping 10cm too big for three minutes" - James Oakden. Amen.

15.01.2022 Little Gem enjoying a fresh round bale on a beautifull afternoon at Birre jump stables

15.01.2022 We have been busy putting up more horserail hotcote fencing and new shelters in the back 5 paddocks at Birre jumping stables this week The horses comfort, safety and wellbeing should always be the highest priority and we love Duncan Equines horserail fencing! The most long term affordable way to keep both ours and our clients horses safe

I have a few different styles of the PS of Sweden jods myself and they are incredibly comfortable , like a second skin , I strongly recommend checking them out on the leader equine website , they are still sending out orders and are fantastic to deal with http://www.leaderequine.com.au website

13.01.2022 Dear Birre Showjumping Stable pupils Is this you during isolation ??? Let’s do something about that ! This isn’t rest time , this is training time , a chance to train harder and come out for the next season going better then ever ! ... I have just finished sending out another few rounds of advice and exercises to pupils who have stayed in touch to keep their progress ticking along during this time . If you are one of my pupils and would like some exercises tailored to you and your horse to ensure your practice is productive please feel free to contact me with dimensions of your riding area , what equipment you have and an update on how you have been going since I last saw you. Happy training * please be aware when you see various exercises being shown on the internet or social media that the distances on them are not suitable for all sizes and levels of horse. It also might not be an exercise at all useful to your current work.... For safety reasons and in the interest of keeping your experiences with your horse positive it’s always best to double check if those distances or that exercise is right for you and your partner.

12.01.2022 Saturday mornings at Birre jumping stables are always busy , so when just a little shut eye is needed between lessons taking the clients/parents chair is ok right ? (even if it is a little small) - asking for a friend ....

11.01.2022 One of the latest improvement projects at Birre jump stables , still not quite finished but two out of three undercover yards completed and waiting for the final paint job. Photos from now back to the transition from some undercover 3x3 yards to much safer / stronger undercover and open yards 12x6m and 1.80 high . We used recycled timber doors from an old stable complex and timber walls for the stable section then Duncan equine / horserail electric panels and cattle rail for... the yards running off them. Extremely safe and durable materials the horses can’t chew so these yards last forever! ( Horserail Australia ) When making the mesh walls of the stable section we just used 3m horse safe gates from Duncan equine , sat them up there and bolted them in and it worked a treat! An affordable, safe and easy way to do the walls then with the help of an epic mate (shout out to Bruce Harding!!) the fronts were welded from the Duncan equine cattle rail and some horse safe mesh . Loving all the different materials and options we have for making our facilities horse safe with the Duncan equine teams help and support! Thanks guys

11.01.2022 Who else feels the same as Margo about share plates These two mares (Jus de Pomme & Daley K) are both due to foal this spring with babies by Sharon Slater’s beautifull young stallion Cachasinni II

11.01.2022 Bella is a junior rider here at Birre jumping stables and today was very focused on her elbows . Bella like all good riders is working on developing her feeling and today’s focus was closed fingers and elbows that open and close as she rises to the trot and follow the contact as she canters . Here we can see her practicing at the trot . .. Well done Bella keep at it

10.01.2022 We are putting about 20 large round bales from this seasons cut up for sale in Birregurra . Good quality mix of meadow hay / native grass (no weeds or barley grass) horses love them. $88 inc GST per bale. Contact Birre Jump stables on Private message or at 0438757227

10.01.2022 All classes in this clinic are now already full... HOWEVER - if you have missed out , please register your interest on the waiting list on global entries and if enough interest is shown in me running another class at any of the heights , I will have time to run two more classes in the afternoon.. again first in best dressed

09.01.2022 Georgie , student extraordinaire, with her outstanding partner practicing position and releases . First exercise you see here is two up one down rising trot , a great exercise for working on a deeper heel and balance. If your lower leg is too far forward you will fall to the back of the saddle , if too far back you fall forward, great exercise for lower leg position. Georgie then alternates from this to two point and then to practicing her crest releases so that once she starts jumping she already has an independent seat and is comfortable giving rein in the air . Awsome job Cecil and Georgie !!

09.01.2022 Safe to say this guy is pretty happy with how much rain Birre jumping stables has had lately , the smile at the end says it all Horserail Australia

04.01.2022 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone who has been a part of our 2020. Whether you are a Facebook follower , client , member of the team, friend or all of the above, our year wouldn’t have been the same without you & Thank you Pictured above is our young TB mare Penny who has received the best Christmas present ever ! A PS of Sweden bridle She is a sensitive young mare and it was important to me she was in a bridle that recognises this and is as soft as possi...ble. With this in mind I have chosen the PSOS London bridle for its exceptionally kind head piece with anatomical shape and padding around the ears plus air gap over the poll to avoid the sensitive nerve tracks and allow further freedom , plus I love the white stitching I then ordered her a Paladin nose band seperate (although it can come in its own bridle) as again it offered a softer kinder option , avoiding the sensitive nerve endings and again allowing further freedom. Instantly I have a happier chestnut mare from the beginning of the session. So a special thanks to Leader Equine for again giving me the opportunity to take such care of our horses.

04.01.2022 Spring has sprung at Birre jumping stables and we are all excited about the months ahead

01.01.2022 Wisdom from the Master, George Morris: Don’t sit back after a horse lands, horses hate that, it hollows a horse. You don’t have to sit down for three-point c...ontact, just sink into the saddle. If you sit down you make them quick and hollow. Keep your body well forward, I want you to just squat in the saddle. Every horse will be rounder if you stay forward, stay forward like Beezie Madden, like John Whitaker and Nick Skelton. My system is big on legs and hands, the seat takes care of itself. http://www.horsemagazine.com//pearls-of-wisdom-from-georg/ See more
