20.01.2022 Yaama, Here at Birrelee, we have been fundraising and saving for an outdoor upgrade. The time has come to start planning and doing. Over the coming months, we would like to transform our outdoor learning environment into a space that promotes creativity, challenging physical activity, cultural learning and sustainable practices. We are seeking local professionals and community members who can assist in the following: - landscaping - construction... - cementing - paving - manual handling - persons with machinery licence If you are or know anyone who can assist, please contact me via messenger or phone me at Birrelee on 67653470. We will also be holding several working bees for those who are willing to help. We are looking forward to creating this space with community and thank those who have helped us already in this journey. Rachael - Director See more

17.01.2022 Thank you to Simon/Anaiwan Art who made our graduation cloak for Birrrlee. We have approximately 20 children graduating this year and although we may have to do things a little different this year, it’s still going to be just as special. 17.01.2022 My Heart breaks today for our Ancestors, our elders and family members who are still out there finding their way home. Between 1910-1970, Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their families as a result of various government policies. The generations of children removed under these policies became known as 'the Stolen Generations'. Today, Tuesday 26 May 2020, is National Sorry Day. It is the National Day of Healing for our Stolen Generations. Our longest living cul...ture in the world is still waiting for our stolen children, our lost children to come home. As a young one, I'll be waiting too. You're always in my prayers. #SorryDay Rikita Slater Birrelee Educator

04.01.2022 For the first time since I can remember, Birrelee staff and children were unable to attend our local protest/march during NAIDOC Week. We pride ourselves on teaching children about culture and history. We believe that advocacy for Aboriginal rights and culture starts from birth and we support our children’s right to be heard. These little Birrelees are our future leaders and we will endeavour to give them the knowledge, understanding and support to continue to advocate for our people and culture. Today we marched with pride as we walked our bike track at Birrelee. With Uncle Paulie leading us, we gave our children a voice and share it now with you all to hear
