23.01.2022 How exciting due to some restrictions being lifted, we are able to meet up once again as a club in our blue shirts!!! Please arrive at Scoopies at least 5 minutes early for a 7am start so that we are able to record those that are present as per QA regulations. I know we all want to give each other a hug, but sorry guys, you’ll have to hold back on that one. Please have hand sanitiser in your car and use before meeting. Please also remember to remain at least 2m apart and to avoid running in someones slipstream, so I guess the fastest runner won’t find that a problem. If you are unwell, please remain home!!!! See you all there and looking forward to welcoming some newcomers also.

23.01.2022 Redcliffe parkrun this week. Google tells me it takes 50mins, so we will leave Information Centre carpark at 5.50am. Could be windy so bring your kite. Sunday meet at 6am, under fig trees near the jetty, for a walk or ran.

14.01.2022 Updated COVID Restrictions The following is the current guidance provided for our continued operation. Over the weekend the Premier announced some new COVID restrictions in response to increases in community transmission,... Private gatherings in the home or any public area are currently restricted to a maximum of 10 persons, in the Greater Brisbane area, and a maximum of 30 outside of that area. However, businesses and sport may continue to operate with larger numbers under Industry COVID Safe Plans. Queensland Athletics, our Clubs and Coaches are covered under the Outdoor Sports Industry COVID Safe Plan https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au//covid-safe-industry-plan-o Based on this master plan, Queensland Athletics has a number of event specific COVID Safe Plans published on our website. https://qldathletics.org.au/policiesdocument/ So, for now the news in regard to Queensland Athletics events is good. Qrun Clubs, training groups and events should all operate these COVID Safe plans. Given the recent increase in community transmission it is very important that we all do our utmost to conduct safe activities utilising these plans. In particular participants must not attend with even the most minor of symptoms, and anyone that has attended one of the identified Contact tracing alert venues should get tested if showing even the most minor of symptoms. https://www.qld.gov.au//cor/current-status/contact-tracing

08.01.2022 Was great to see such a good turnout to our first club meet since restrictions have been lifted. We had 17 members in total and fantastic to see the blue shirts out again. Don't forget, same place same time tomorrow.

05.01.2022 Our Club President, Stuart Bell is completing a virtual marathon tomorrow morning (Sunday) commencing at 6:30am Banksia Beach. He should be at lower end of Marina Boulevard at 7:30, Scoopys 8:00, Surf Club 8:25, VMR 9:05, and finishing at Col Fisher Park at 9:45. Anyone that would like to cheer him on at any point, it would be much appreciated as it will be quite a mental challenge for him running solo. We wish you all the best, Stuart
