25.01.2022 You are no longer aliens or foreign visitors: you are citizens like all the saints, and part of God’s household. You are part of a building that has the apostles and prophets for its foundations, and Christ Jesus himself for its main cornerstone. Ephesians 2:19-21
25.01.2022 Today is the 10th Anniversary of the Canonisation of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop. Mary was a prophetess for the poor, she advocated for children and the vulnerable, and she blazoned new ways of reaching out to those on the edge of the Church and society. Each one of us, like Saint Mary, is called to proclaim by word and deed that God is our strength. In challenging times such as these, the world needs witnesses of faith. For our part, as disciples of Jesus, we are drawn, like Mary, into the world to follow Jesus, wherever he may lead us.
24.01.2022 It was a privilege to honour several Jubilarians of the Broken Bay Diocese at a celebratory dinner to give thanks to God for their many years of priestly service.

15.01.2022 What a blessing to celebrate the Catholic Schools Broken Bay 2020 end of year leadership Mass and dinner, where we thanked and farewelled some long-serving, dedicated colleagues, and welcomed a new cohort of newly appointed principals, workstream leads and agency leaders for 2021. I'm grateful to God for the excellent people involved in the mission of education in our Diocese!
14.01.2022 Last night I ordained the third candidate of our 'Trilogy', Sam French to the Sacred Order of Deacons at St Agatha's Church Pennant Hills.
13.01.2022 Today marks the centenary of the death of Servant of God, Eileen O'Connor. She is a marvelous example of the first vocation, our baptismal vocation, the wonderful and universal call to holiness for every woman and man baptised in Jesus Christ.
12.01.2022 A year ago today, the Apostolic Nuncio read out this document (known as a Papal Bull) from the Holy Father before the community of the Church at the Mass of my Installation as the fourth Bishop of Broken Bay. Each day I am grateful to God for the opportunity to serve the people of Broken Bay and ask for His grace to do so with love and humility. St Charles Borromeo, pray for us!
12.01.2022 Giving thanks to God and Our Lady on this First Anniversary of my appointment as Bishop of Broken Bay (BB4). I’m mindful of my predecessors and the community of the Church that have sustained and propagated the faith in this region over so many years. May God continue to do His will in our Diocese. Fiat voluntas tua! Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.
10.01.2022 Today the Church has been joined to her heavenly bridegroom, since Christ has purified her of her sins in the river Jordan: the Magi hasten to the royal wedding and offer gifts: the wedding guests rejoice since Christ has changed water into wine, alleluia. Antiphon for the Feast of the Epiphany of the Lord.
10.01.2022 St Agnes was a young woman who witnessed to Christ through the shedding of her blood. Often pictured with a lamb she imitates the sacrifice of the Lamb of God by her death as a martyr. At the age of 12 she is too young to know of death but with Christ, she is ready to face it.
08.01.2022 Eric, Richard, Huy, Tân, and Shayne, the ministry of Lector to which you are called; is not merely a step taken to complete the curriculum of diaconal or priestly formation. Ministry to the Word of God is an ongoing vocation in the Church, not a temporary or occasional work of a few. This ministry will only be fruitful if you allow the Word of God to form and shape your heart. To be fruitful ministers, you must first be faithful disciples, who are configured daily to Jesus Christ, the eternal Word of God.
06.01.2022 My prayers are with all the students who begin their HSC exams today.
04.01.2022 Another great image from Caravaggio - this time from Paul's conversion on the way to Damascus. Notice his outstretched arms and his body mimicking the shape of the cross. For the disciple of Jesus Christ there is no conversion without the glorious cross.
03.01.2022 An important occasion this evening on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary...
03.01.2022 Australia Day gives us an opportunity to think and pray about what it means to be one people united in this blessed nation, that was once named The Great South Land of the Holy Spirit. Today, pray for an outpouring of the Spirit of God bringing peace, unity and blessing to our people.
