22.01.2022 XY project, Outside bonnet skin now close to 80% repaired ready to bolt on and finish gapping on the car, filled with splines, sanded and in PPG epoxyprime.

21.01.2022 A major birthday update for the spray baking oven, A repaint, thanks Mick Damon , 60 retro fitted leds, all light fittings cleaned, and new seals. Thanks for the helpful pictures and Led model numbers Howard Astill.

21.01.2022 XY project, Was lucky enough to track down my XY’s original boot lid, outside skin blasted and stripped and deoxidised, then split open and separated the skin from the frame, as can be seen from the pictures it always pays to split them open, a lot more work to come, but so far this boot lid is looking good, Also a final fill and sand with splines on the bonnet, and PPG epoxythane.

19.01.2022 XY Project, 2 solid days working on the boot skin, Removed small dents, welded a couple of moulding holes and stripped back and metal deoxidised ready for PPG Epoxythane, To think the last person to see this boot skin like this, would have been 1970 on the Ford factory production line

18.01.2022 Give the XY a little Prepsol clean.

18.01.2022 XY Project, Boot lid next, getting ready to blast and split it open, same procedure as the bonnet, So far doesn’t look to bad for a OEM panel over 50 years of age.

17.01.2022 XY Project, 50 year old boot lid frame blasted, Come up a treat, PPG epoxied, a few small dents to be fixed but in the main it’s a great boot lid, next back onto the skin.

12.01.2022 XY Project, Boot lid, It always pays to split them open, Over 50 years of surface rust in there.

11.01.2022 Back on the Darren Wall Torana, Over the last couple of day’s, PPG COB semi gloss black paint and bake the 9 diff after blasting, Then fitted to vehicle including king adjustable shocks, springs, and adjustable upper control arms, wildwood brakes and lines hooked up, and finished, Also did a final check on the simmons wheel offset, all clearances looking good.
