22.01.2022 Thinking about taking up the Government's offer of temporary early access to super? This early access needs to be very carefully considered. If your super withd...rawal is not being appropriately managed, it could be difficult to bounce back from. Choosing to withdraw early from your super is a decision that has its pros and cons, and should be done with caution and ideally after all other options have been exhausted. If retirement is not in your near future, it is important to look at the impacts that a $20,000 withdrawal today, could have on your retirement nest egg in 20, 30 or 40+ years time. 12.01.2022 Brian made some new friends at this year's SMSF Association 2020 National Conference that ran from February 19th-21st at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. Brian, Renee and Darin had the pleasure of attending the conference and hearing about the latest in SMSF legislation and regulation, complex strategies, business practice and advice. They had a great time playing with snakes, Lego men, enjoying free juice and ice cream, and collecting as many branded bags, pens and notepads as they could carry! BIS Super looks forward to attending the conference next year.

08.01.2022 Attention trustees! A message from SMSF Alliance's Principal and SMSF Specialist Mentor - David Busoli "The ATO are now issuing alerts directly to trustees via email and/or text messages when any changes are made within their SMSF. This includes changes to: ... financial institution account details electronic service address (ESA) authorised contact or members. The purpose of the measure is to prevent fraud and mismanagement and works in conjunction with similar notifications from the banks. Unfortunately one of those communications may involve an error in the ATO's own database concerning a change of ESA. If you receive such a notification you should first check to see if it is correct as, in the short term, it is likely that it's not."
