Bitu-mill’s South Australian road profiling team recently profiled the Gateway South Lowered Motorway. When complete, this section will enable non-stop travel underneath Flinders Dr, Strut Rd, Sutton Rd/Mimosa Tce and Tonsley Bvd in South Adelaide. Using our state-of-the art Wirtgen road profilers and working mostly at night, our team accurately milled the road base to ensure correct levels for the final wearing course. The milled material was subsequently recycled by our client on upcoming SA roads projects.

10.01.2022 Rehabilitating, widening and upgrading arterial roads are a Bitu-mill speciality. A good example is our work upgrading two sections of the MorningtonTyabb Road, a major arterial road on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Working closely with the Department of Transport and APA, our Infrastructure team removed and then widened degraded pavement shoulders, laid a new subbase topped with 200mm of deep lift asphalt and installed new lines, signs and barriers, including a section of the new pavement that was over an existing gas line. Self-performing the majority of work, with our own equipment, we minimised disruption to the community by informing them well in advance of upcoming works and ensured the Moorooduc Primary School had complete safe and unencumbered access during works
