24.01.2022 Did you know there is no prescribed weight limit for men or women that is illegal to lift in a workplace? The features of the load. The weight of the load will increase the risk, but a light load may still pose a risk when combined with the above factors. For more information on manual handling and how to identify the hazards and assess and control the risks, check out the link below. http://www.vwa.vic.gov.au//0/9426/COP25_manualhandling.pdf

07.01.2022 #1 Managing Fatigue - Reducing the Risk! An employer can help reduce the risk of fatigue in their workplace by; - Identifying any tasks and/or factors that could increase the likelihood of a worker becoming fatigued. Things to consider will include working time, work conditions, schedules, mental and physical demands of the work and even individual factors (slight changes may have a big impact of reducing the risk of fatigue). It will also be important to identify how fatigu...e could interact with other workplace hazards (i.e. if a worker was fatigued could this increase the risk of an already existing hazard?) A worker can help reduce the risk of becoming fatigued at work by; - As simple as it sounds, 'having a good night’s sleep of at least 7 continuous hours between 10pm and 6am'.
