25.01.2022 Celebrating Global Bookkeeping Week. Just one glass of bubbles at lunch then back to work. We love what we do and love that it helps business owners focus on what they need to to grow their business and to improve their work life balance. ... Our team has grown of late with the addition of Kelly and Natasha so team meetings at the moment now occur in the kitchen area while we work on creating more space. #globalbookkeepingweek2020

22.01.2022 WARNING - Audits have begun. These audits are to check that the grant monies you received have been spent on eligible expenses. If you haven’t already been doing so we suggest, while fresh in your mind, that you locate and record these transactions in a fashion that will make them easy to put your hands on in the event you receive one of these audits. ... At the time you applied for the grant a list of the type of expense that are eligible was provided.

17.01.2022 CRITICAL JOBKEEPER ACTIONS FOR EARLY JANUARY 2021: If you are presently in JobKeeper you need to be aware of some critical actions and inactions needed in early January 2021. The current JobKeeper quarter ends for wages paid up to 3rd Jan 2021. ... At that point eligibility needs to be reassessed to continue on JobKeeper for Jan through to March 2021 by comparing your actual GST turnover for the 3 months of Oct, Nov and Dec 2020 to Oct, Nov and Dec of 2019. If you do not meet the required % drop in that test, you stop JobKeeper. If you do meet the required % drop in that test, you continue on JobKeeper but at reduced top up rates. These can be caught up by 31 Jan 2021. We therefore suggest that top-ups stop after 3rd Jan 2020 until you, us or your tax advisor assess your eligibility to continue and advise on how to proceed. We also suggest that you give your employees the heads up on this process so they know what to expect in their first few pays in the new year. We will be in touch with our clients as soon as possible in January to discuss your particular situation.

17.01.2022 One of the reasons we love FiveSeven Consulting Pty Ltd so much is the unique way they go about things. Always thinking outside the box. Thanks girls for the Christmas wishes

13.01.2022 Our elves are officially in quarantine for 14 days after arriving from the North Pole today. We are a little concerned about the effect being in quarantine now will have on their behaviour when released.

12.01.2022 Congratulations to Tina White from our team. An accountant and an artist. Using her left and right brain skills. We are all so proud of you as should you be of yourself. You can see Tina’s latest artworks which are already sold at the #wagthetale exhibition at Boltspace Maitland for the next few weeks. Tina White Colours

07.01.2022 The new tax tables to deal with recent tax cuts are now updated in Xero. Payroll Admins will receive communication advising this from xero on Monday. In usual Xero fashion there is no need to do anything, merely process pays as normal, xero has taken care of the rest behind the scenes. Pay runs from this point forward will see a reduction in paygw and an increase in net pay for some employees. ... The ATO announcement regarding the tax cuts can be found at https://www.ato.gov.au//Tax-cuts---time-to-change-withhol/

06.01.2022 Goodluck wishes to the 5 mums in our office with HSC starters today. And of course best of luck to the HSC sitters themselves Erin, Gemma, Libby, Jess and Bodhi. You’ve raised wonderful young adults girls. It’s been a trying year for them so we have sent their mums to work from home during their HSC exams for extra support this year.

06.01.2022 The Rollercoaster ride of 2020........ When asked for one word to describe 2020 many came to mind but the one that seemed most appropriate was ‘rollercoaster’. 2020 has been one hell of a ride. A ride of ups and downs, sharp turns, speed, twists, stomach churning and breath holding. ... Never in my career have we had so much technical knowledge to learn, absorb and put into practice in such a short timeframe. Never have we as an industry had such an urgent volume of work required by every client in our client base at the same time on top of our normal workload. On some level though it’s also been a very satisfying year, in the sense that we felt we were helping and making a difference in our clients lives during what was a very stressful and uncertain time for everyone. Your thanks and gratitude was proof of that and kept us going whenever we were feeling exhaustion creep in. One of our team even went as far to say that she felt she had a red cape on during the initial lockdown period. I have always believed there is no ‘I’ in team. That we all may have different skills and play different parts but each of us play an important role that is critical to the end game. This year saw us pull together like no other year. As captain of the ship it was beautiful to observe the girls pull together for each other and our clients. They did a stellar job, one I will be eternally thankful for and proud of. Some downtime is very much needed before we tackle 2021. We close today for the Christmas break and reopen on 4th January. Should you have an urgent request during that period please email Deb on [email protected]. Although at present it’s looking like the rollercoaster ride isn’t yet over, our new year's wish will be that we never see a year like 2020 again. But whatever 2021 holds we will be here to grab it by the horns in true Biz style. Thankyou for working with us in 2020. It’s been our pleasure to spend it with you and we are so very grateful to be surrounded by wonderful clients, colleagues and business connections. We wish you and your family a safe festive season. One where you take stock of what you have around you and make the most of the opportunity to spend quality time with those near and dear to you. Love and best wishes Deb and the Biz Team x
