25.01.2022 New henna batch coming up! Photo layout of the process of making henna paste. First its the powder, triple sifted lawsonia inertia, organically farmed. Lavender oil is the most skin sensitive oil and assists with the staining properties of the paste. Sugar to help the paste stick to your skin, to get a better stain. And finally lemon juice or water. Either liquid here really doesnt matter but there are some sources that say lemon juice promotes dye release. Now we wait!! 23.01.2022 Red is the first colour to disappear underwater, at a depth of 15-20ft. I find it so interesting that some fish are such vibrant reds, oranges and yellows yet, to our eyes, they become a gray/blueish colour underwater. #watercolours #painting #karratha #pilbara #artist #fish #red #orange #sunset #scales

22.01.2022 Finally, coning! I rolls pre-cut cello with a pin in the end. You can roll the cello shut and cut open when youre ready to use the cones but I find a little extra work when rolling gives me a consistent size opening when using the cones. Then fill all your cones, and seal them shut with tape. A batch this size gives me 15-20 henna cones. They arent consistent, some smaller than others but I do prefer a thinner, longer shape for my henna cones. I was lucky to be hanging in the most relaxing tent of Fenacle; The Space Karratha, surrounded by the healing and relaxing vibes of @nicolesmakeup_artistry, Sahasi Mahila Treks, @kylianne_moveformentalhealth , massaging geniuses and faerie creators! I had an awesome time doing henna for the masses, with plenty of new challenges! Who wouldve thought of a classic game boy space invaders henna! Love it! 13.01.2022 Next step, Dye release! The paste shows a contrast in colours when the top is scrapped back, this is a pretty good sign your paste is ready! I add water to mix to my preferred consistency then mix, mix, mix! Once Ive achieved the consistency I like, I strain the paste through a Stocking. This is not a necessary step but can help avoid clumps and air bubbles later. Quick paste test; after 5 minutes your paste should yield a bright pumpkin orange stain. Gorgeous! Then you finish straining into a piping bag ready to fill the cones! You can freeze at this point to defrost and use later or get straight into filling the cones #excited #hennapaste #makinghenna #smellsamazing #naturalhenna #lavender #theraputic
