24.01.2022 Well here it is, this is my story! An old mate of mine from Penrith, Steve Sciberras, asked me a few years ago, "why dont u get back into Karate again, you'll h...ave a black belt when yr 50. (I did it with him for years in my 20's) I said ok, i will do it. So he took me down to the Dojo the next day and introduced me to Dylan Murray. Well today i went for my Black Belt, which went over 3 days, and i passed! It wasn't just this week that was difficult, everyday was a challenge as i suffer from gout alot, and im 95kg, and being 50, i cant do things like i used too. Well Steve, i kept to my word!!! When they called me up to receive my Black Belt today, it was emotional for me, and then to hear my name called out again that i won an achievement award, well the tears came flooding back in. I cant count the bruisers or worry about the soreness, thats for another day. I have to say Graeme Sneddon, (Head instructor) is an amazing person! You just can't fault the guy! His delivery of lessons and his attitude to everyday life is execptional. Well he has earned a spot in my heart forever, which i told him today before i left! I have to thank Cathie for pushing me to go, when sometimes i didnt feel like i had the energy, and ironing the Gi. (i had the best ironed Gi every class! Someone mentioned it to me today too).. Thanks Steve, thankyou to all my new Budo family, you are all wonderful. Keep in mind, there are a few Dojo's around Sydney. I recommend you or your kids to learn this style and their way of life skills! Here are a few pics from the weekend i did, now saved on this cloud. I just bought an expensive bottle to drink, cos right now, i deserve it!!! Cheers See more

23.01.2022 Hi Guys, As we're forced to spend more time indoors right now, I thought it'd be a good idea to sift through the old hard drives. I've uploaded to our Youtube channel quite a few videos that capture the spirit of the many aspects of training in BKK. Some current, some from the vault.... Check us out. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCElDZ9Kxw6IcvsMEedbmWzg

16.01.2022 Hi Guys, As per the image attached, if you've recently been to any of these venues, please refrain from attending our Dojos immediately. Get yourself tested & isolate for 14 days before returning to training.... Follow the guidelines & keep everyone safe. Osu,
16.01.2022 A snippet of a training session this morning with Dylan Grimshaw. I’m not sure why it uploaded sideways. Muppet!
16.01.2022 Hi Guys, Attached is a link to a video on our Youtube channel of Marty Bronn working through an abduction scenario. Would be great to cover some of this type of training with the Appin kids when we get back from holidays.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMiKvvTWhwM. Hope you're enjoying the rest. G.

09.01.2022 What NOT to do if you're a Martial Artist in self-isolation. More to come.
09.01.2022 Attention all students: To ensure the safest training environment, I have decided to replace PowerCamp 2020 with a separate training initiative. I am excited to announce "Camp Grit 2020". In light of the Government restrictions on crossing regions, I have coordinated with the Branch Chiefs & issued them with instructions to roll out their own regional 2-day training & grading camp. Camp Grit will be complete with the usual challenges that you have to come to expect at PowerC...amp. Of course, the examinations for Black Belt will be conducted on the Sunday. Watch this space for further information regarding timetable, costs etc. Thank you to all Instructors & students who have stayed the course throughout this challenging time. G. See more
04.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE In order for the Kyu Grading to go ahead on August 30, I must ask that only 1 parent (spectator) attend for the duration per family. We have limited space & must comply with government restrictions to ensure everyone's safety. Please complete & submit your application form as soon as possible.... Thank you to all students who have worked hard these past few months, despite the current hardship. Through this adversity you will come to place a higher value on the grade. Osu,
03.01.2022 A brief montage of some of the breaks from the seniors at Bulli Dojo last Thursday.
02.01.2022 Hi Guys, As we discussed in the Dojo, the grading has been booked for Sunday August 30. That said, we are limited to 27 students on the mat to be able to retain 1.5 metre radius. I ask that you have an open mind with regard to the start time. I honestly don't know how many are expecting to test. If we exceed the 27 then I'll split the event into 2 time slots. Will keep you posted as the numbers come in. Also, I would ask that if you have any flu-like symptoms, then you refra...in from attending the grading. I'm happy to work something out to accommodate you where practical, should these circumstances arise. Once again, my sincere thanks to each of you who have been unwavering in your commitment to the Dojos throughout this difficult time. G. See more
