They say you must fall 100 times before you can ride a horse, but what no one tells you is they say lots of things in this crazy horse world no pain no gain and so on and so on. Let me say though it takes a bloody tough and firey spirited 6 year old who is completely new to the world of horses to soak all that in and still show up each week to learn the art of horse riding. There is never a dull moment with Kinleigh and I am always left feeling so fulfilled with our lessons. We have achieved and conquered the undesirable with smiles on our faces. Do some self- reflection and write down your triggers when a situation becomes ‘Hard’ what do you automatically think, feel or do... Let’s get vulnerable here are mine: - I’m a bolt’er, I definitely work off of my flight sensor. Don’t like what I’m seeing/ doing I will be gone before you know it. -I feel like a small little girl who ‘isn’t enough’ here are some worthlessness rubbish I used to think when I was a child- teenager and still as an adult , (I’m not; tall enough, fast enough, smart enough, pretty enough, good enough.) - SHUT DOWN; silent, introverted unable to communicate These are things beyond my control but being aware of them enables me to strengthen my awareness and shut them down before they cause havoc to my already chaotic situation.

The problem with horse training is that society is set up to believe that you can buy a service and have things the way you want in a certain time frame. People look at horse training as if they're spending their money on a product. And yet even the best horse trainers will tell you the horse takes its own time, and no one can guarantee a horse will be doing what you want from it when you want from it. The other problem is that even i...f your trainer can get it done with your horse, it doesn't necessarily mean that you will be able to. Getting a horse right takes an amount of commitment on the owners part to develop the same type of relationship that the trainer has, otherwise how can you expect from your horse for yourself what your trainer gets, when it's they who have put in the hours, the sweat, the patience and the desire to get Along with that horse? You aren't spending money on a tune up for your car that you can take home and drive. The fact that money is involved leads people to believe they deserve something for what they paid, and they do, but, it happens in the animals time, not the humans.
