14.01.2022 Gypsy Cobs The breed is a new breed when compared to many others. Photos and Romany people and Travellers will tell you themselves they produced this breed from... a type bred up to fill the demand within thier communities for hardy versatile horses with plenty of bone but not too big to feed and of the quietest most willing nature. They bred them up by crossing thier mares to heavy horse stallions as they travelled. Many of thier mares where coloured as the military had taken most solids so colour was plentiful in those times back home but solids not so much. Many of the mares where of British pony breeds and mix's there of. Today they are a breed in thier own right and most bloodlines are now breeding true to type and personally I feel their short history as a breed is a plus as the bred has good genetic diversity and health.
