25.01.2022 Hi all- with the latest contact tracing places released today- there are a few close to home. Have a scan and help keep everyone safe! https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au//contact+tr/contact+tracing

25.01.2022 Dear Families, As you are aware schools will be closing as part of the new Covid restrictions. Black Forest Primary School will be closed initially for Thursday and Friday of this week and Monday and Tuesday of next week. We ask families to keep students home where possible. Children of essential workers and vulnerable students will be catered for in a modified class at school. To assist us to plan for the care of your children and the number of staff required over these next... few days, we are asking anyone who is an essential worker and planning on sending their child to school, to complete this survey so we can prepare. Only essential workers need to complete this form. Stay safe! We look forward to seeing you all again soon. Leadership Team https://docs.google.com//1c_chNknglq-QVLetKQqoSW/viewform

22.01.2022 The Yr 6/7 classes have had great couple of days at Glenelg Beach. Lots of beach activities and water safety exercises to be more confident and competent around the beach.

17.01.2022 NAIDOC Week this week at BFPS! Many classes have had discussions and were involved in activities about what it means and why we celebrate it. Mr.Greene's class looked at the importance of NAIDOC week and included the significance of Remembrance Day, by researching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People who fought in WW1. They shared this at assembly today!

15.01.2022 School Closures We are hearing the information about the lockdown now and working through the implications for BFPS and BFPS OSHC. We will inform you asap when we have a clearer understanding of what is happening over the next 6 days and the 8 days beyond. What we do know is that Thursday and Friday are school closure days, Monday and Tuesday are student free days. We are unsure at the moment about what this means for essential workers but will let you know as soon as we know.... Thanks for your support and understanding. Kind regards, Iain Elliott

04.01.2022 A letter from our OSHC director: Dear families, As you may already be aware the Premier has announced a 6 day statewide lockdown in SA.... I can confirm that we will be operating Before school and After school for the following days Thursday 19th November Friday 20th November Monday 23rd November Tuesday 24th November While we are open this is only for families who have no other alternative (eg all Adults living in the household are essential workers and will NOT be at home and for vulnerable children) All OSHC bookings are being cancelled for ALL sessions over the next 6 days and we are asking that parents who are requiring care on the above dates to EMAIL us asap on [email protected] to notify us that a) you are an essential worker or Vulnerable child and b) have no-one else in the household who can care for the children. Please also be clear about what days and sessions you need to book in for. We ask that you try and limit the amount of time children are at the service by dropping of as late as possible and collecting as early as possible. We also ask that you strongly adhere to social distancing and hand washing/sanitising guidelines. I will keep you posted with updates as i am made aware of any changes and or what will happen beyond the 6 days This is a challenging time for everyone and we appreciate your support and understanding. Together we will get through this. Kind regards Jamie Hutchison

01.01.2022 Hi all, for those who couldn't access emails this afternoon- below is the content of the letter sent this afternoon: Dear Parent/Caregiver, Today the Premier announced a 6 day state-wide lockdown starting at midnight tonight (Wednesday 18 November) through to midnight Tuesday 24 November. ... Only the children of essential workers and vulnerable children will be able to attend school or preschool / child care. To help us plan our staffing needs for tomorrow we would appreciate you completing the survey (below) if you are an essential worker. Clearly the intention here is if both parents are essential workers and therefore neither parent can look after the children during the day. A skeleton staff will provide supervision but not a learning program for the remainder of this week. If your child needs to attend, we will be here for them. OSHC will be available, again only for children of essential workers, for before school and after school care. Please book with OSHC if you require this service. All students have been asked to take home school laptops/devices, books and anything they need to continue their learning from home. More information on learning programs will be provided early next week, as we work our way through the new COVID-19 Directions. All South Australians are making sacrifices to ensure our community remains as safe as possible. We appreciate that this is a significant undertaking for you and your family. Your child’s teacher, our support staff and I are here to support you where we can. Survey link- (NB- Please only complete survey if you are both essential workers and need to send your kids tomorrow/Friday) https://forms.gle/qv3T5tie5udfWtyWA Regards, Iain Elliott Principal
