25.01.2022 Always was always will be Aboriginal Land
25.01.2022 READ THIS BEFORE YOU WATCH: This was ONLY 44 years ago. Some would say NOTHING has changed except that now those same white children are adult judges, officers,... and people in power. I think times HAVE changed. And even though an older white man JUST disrespectfully called me the "N word" like two days ago ... I believe in my heart that parents are tired of hearing about blacks being mistreated. And if we would just give each other the opportunity to bridge the gap, try to understand one another, and work together to ensure that no other children EVER go through this sort of trauma ... maybe we can make this world a better place. 25.01.2022 That's is appalling...stop using your authority to treat people like animals...especially pinning a elder to the ground only aggravates the situation... I hope uncle is ok ?

19.01.2022 I support #BlackLivesMatterAustralia because Indigenous people have been given a raw deal for centuries. The conservatives can't cut more than $500M from Indigenous programs, dismiss the Uluru Statement, and then wonder what all the fuss is about.
16.01.2022 Queensland Police Assistant Commissioner Brian Codd is providing an update on the death of an Indigenous woman in police custody. An assistant watchhouse office...r has been suspended from duty while the Ethical Standards Command conducts an investigation into the death of Sherry Fisher-Tilberoo. 10.01.2022 Do you know the history of some of the many Boundary Streets around Australia? While some were boundaries of properties or councils, many were the boundary of w...here Indigenous Australians were not allowed to cross after 4pm weekdays/Saturdays and not at all on Sundays. p. 88 and Colliver & Woolston in 'Aboriginals in the Brisbane Area' p. 64 quote Carl Lentz as saying: 'even in the late 1870's mounted troopers would ride about Brisbane 'after 4pm cracking stockwhips' as a signal for Aborigines to leave town’ I learnt about this a number of years ago and always been slightly horrified that we haven’t renamed these boundary roads and streets around our cities (to the name of the traditional land they run on would be a good idea I always thought). But that would be hiding and whitewashing another example of our terrible treatment of the original owners of this beautiful country. One of Brisbane’s prominent Aboriginal elders, Mr Watson, said he wanted Boundary Street to remain as a reminder of Brisbane's bloody past. "I think it's important that all people walking through Brisbane and along Boundary Street should be aware of the history of it," he said. So if you hadn’t been already, now you are aware of the history of it.

07.01.2022 It's the second death in custody in a Sydney prison in three days
07.01.2022 You see a lot of comments on social media saying that if Indigenous people committed less crime they might not end up in prison as much and look, IF YOUR RESPO...NSE TO INDIGENOUS INCARCERATION RATES IS "COMMIT LESS CRIME", YOU’RE MISSING THE POINT. You really are. Imagine going to prison for years for an unpaid fine! Imagine being taken into custody for falling asleep on a train! Imagine being imprisoned for months without trial! Indigenous Australians don't have to imagine these things. As #BlackLivesMatter protests have spread around the world, the Australian protests have focused on Aboriginal deaths in custody. We know there are more indigenous people in prisons than non-Indigenous people. We know the incarceration rate of Indigenous people in Australia is among the highest in the world. But as Jan Fran explains, it's really not as simple as "commit less crime". In this episode of The Frant for Guardian Australia, you'll discover the ways in which the Australian legal system is and always has been biased against Indigenous Australians. #IndigenousLivesMatter, #AboriginalLivesMatter and #BlackLivesMatterAustralia

06.01.2022 LATEST UPDATE: A larger rally has been called for 4pm today (Friday, 11/9) in King George Square. Obviously attendees are encouraged to wear masks, maintain saf...e distancing etc. PREVIOUSLY: A few nights ago, an Aboriginal woman died while in police custody at Roma St Watch House. Angry residents are holding a snap action this morning outside the police station... The rally this morning started out quite peacefully, but without warning, police started arresting protesters. You would think that if they genuinely wanted to de-escalate the sitaution, they would try to negotiate with organisers before just arresting people. Those who are posting up with concerns about the behaviour of the protesters should ask yourself why you aren't first posting up on the social media pages of Queensland Police and the Queensland Government Police Minister about how and why a person died while held at police headquarters. Why hasn't the footage from the cell been released yet?
