14.01.2022 This native Australian plant is in DANGER of being harvested into extinction by poachers! We are proud of our heritage here in Kalgoorlie Western Australia. That's why we use our own locally harvested and sustainable sandalwood oil and sandalwood nut oil in our products. Kalgoorlie has naturally occurring Wild Australian sandalwood oil (santalum spicatum) and has been exporting the prestigious perfumers oil extract for hundreds of years. Pure sandalwood oil can fetch as much... as $3000AUD a kilo and higher. But there is a darker side to the sandalwood trade few know about. The high value of sandalwood oil has led to wild sandalwood being depleted due to sandalwood poachers. Now of coarse in order to make our products sustainable and to build up native sandalwood numbers the wild sandalwood has been domesticated, planted and harvested. Saplings are also planted to restock the native levels and rejuvenate natural sandalwood numbers. When you buy our sandalwood products you are helping rectify the damage caused by poachers and years of wild harvesting.
