25.01.2022 We have done some major work on the farm lately and it was so good to put it all to the test and see how happy the horses are with our efforts. We had the wonderful boys from RuralOpps come through to do phase 1 of our major fencing plan. They have done an awesome job building our core fencing foundation. We now have the property split into 9 grazing paddocks which are 5 to 7 acres, each paddock is linked to one of 2 approximately 1000sqm loafing yards with a water trough a...nd shelter (only one has shelter so far but we'll get that sorted soon) so when we want to do rotations we just need to close one paddock and open the gate to the next. We have also set up 5x 1 acre paddocks so any required quarantine, separations or paddock sacrifices can happen efficiently and with low stress. Along the highway we've set up 3 long wildlife, regeneration and trail riding corridors which we aim to also incorporate into a mountain trails style obstacle course as well. Next stage will be to replace all the old fencing that is currently functional but not perfect.

25.01.2022 Woohoo! I have been published in this book with an amazing group of female authors. This is such a huge milestone. I really hope some of you will give it a read and review https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08MSTXTNW

24.01.2022 Very interesting. We have never had a horse founder on our property which I put down largely to our highly varied pastures including lots of native grasses, ple...nty of exercise both when ridden and playing with each other and good access to healthy water. I've often described horses losing their water weight or so we've called it on arrival. They then tend to settle at a good healthy weight within the first 2 weeks.

21.01.2022 Thanks for the lovely review Rosemary.

19.01.2022 Scotch is turning out to be a very level headed, strong young man. This is the end of our first proper training session at home a total of 4 training hours from first touch. Scotch will be available for sale when he has been gelded and broken in properly.

14.01.2022 A huge day today with the annual ACTION Buses - Canberra's Public Bus Service Christmas party. Always an awesome event with a happy friendly vibe. We love doing events like this where all the kids have unlimited rides and we can just keep the smiles coming all day. Thanks to the Cowra RDA and Frances Woodbridge for lending us Nina and trekking all the way from Cowra to join us.

13.01.2022 Some of the gorgeous ponies we've been working with getting their first backing and first rides done. It's so nice to be able to reliably get such calm happy faces at such a pivotal moment in their lives. How did your first ride go on your pony pal?

06.01.2022 So happy to see Moana in her perfect home. Stephanie Pure has done such a fantastic job with her. We did Moana's initial handling and backing some of you may remember her getting her first ride at Murrumbateman field days 2 yrs ago. Steph has sinced worked so well starting Moana fully undersaddle and is reaping the benefits of having an awesome relationship with a lovely young horse.

02.01.2022 Update on our little orphan Tailor. He had his first trim yesterday with Sascha who was so good with him and his first tetnus from Mainprize Veterinary Services. He is such a cool and clever dude. He will be available for rehoming at the start of 2021 so if anyone is interested in him let us know soon and we can tee up a meet and greet.

02.01.2022 Working with Scotch a 4yr old unhandled stallion. His owners are doing the right thing after having been caught between a rock and a hard place. They have committed to getting Scotch sorted and ready to join the big wide horsey world. First step was getting Scotch back to our place. After our initial assessment session we had a game plan and this weekend we initiated it by spending an hour with him on Saturday afternoon teaching him to be caught and getting some basic handlin...g and ground control in place. On Sunday we brought the float out and putting some of that handling practice into play to get Scotch loaded up and home. It took about 2 and a half hours from morning catch to out the gate. There was a lot of back and forth as one of the reasons Scotch hadn't been handled was he was very adept at turning his shoulder and running away. We got there with a lot of pressure, release and positive reinforcement. Overall pretty happy with how everything went.
