24.01.2022 Everyone had a great time at our Christmas party, especially the kids. Santa and his elves arrived in style with bags of goodies to the delight of the kids. We were all treated to beautiful cup cakes donated by Linda. Maureen and Janet donated the beautiful raffles. A big thank you to Nancy Dennis and Leon Dwyer for the music and Christmas carols.

21.01.2022 WATER BORES We are pleased to announce that the community water bore at Black Springs is now operational. There are instructions at the site on how to use the b...ore. There is a slight delay in opening of the O’Connell water bore due to access availability and we hope to have this resolved shortly. Please note that the water from the bore is for animal consumption only. If drinkable water is required by residents, this needs to be obtained from the North Street Water Stand in Oberon. 14.01.2022 While gathering photos for our heritage wall I looked everywhere for a photo of the Old Black Springs Hall which stood behind the Avoca church. In this photo we have Fr Mackillop standing outside the hall with Chris Hotham, Trevor Gibbons, Brian Behan, Maxine Hoolihan, Danny Stapleton and Michael Hotham. The photo would've been taken about 1967

06.01.2022 BETTER MOBILE PHONE COVERAGE FOR BLACK SPRINGS! Today was a great day for the community of Black Springs! I met up with Oberon Council and community members to ...celebrate the new Telstra small cell base station that’s on its way! Thanks to Round 5 of the Australian Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program better mobile phone coverage is not far off for residents, local businesses and those passing through. Well done to the community of Black Springs who campaigned tirelessly for better mobile phone reception. The coverage will also assist with vital emergency services communications, including for the local RFS brigades - particularly critical after the fires that ripped through the region last summer. A fantastic development and highly deserving for this community who have worked so hard to get this done. The guidelines for the Mobile Black Spot Program are currently being redesigned to give small communities a fairer go. The next round is expected to open later in 2020. #andrewgee #calarecommunities Black Springs Community Association Inc.
