18.01.2022 Blackall Amateur Swimming Association **AGM** **2018/19 Presentation Including the Hart Memorial**... EOI for all executive positions Information for 2019/20 season Thursday, 24 October 2019 6pm Blackall Aquatic Centre BBQ meat supplied please bring small side to share.

17.01.2022 Hi everyone!! Its nearly time to dust off our caps and goggles and get into our swimmers for another season!! Due to the lack of availability of swim trainers within Blackall we advised at the end of last season we would be running our squad training a little differently to ensure ALL levels of swim ability get the training they require to achieve their goals weather that be swimming for fun, fitness or competitive.... To get the ball rolling and give ALL swimmers, no matter their skill level (from Learn to Swim to Competitive Squad), we have organised a FANTASTIC opportunity for members to attend a 5 day intensive swimming clinic with qualified experienced coaches/learn to swim teachers and the possibility of a ‘World Champion Swimmer’ also!! The clinic will be held from Monday, 25 September to Friday, 29 September, times and details to be determined when final numbers and swim abilities are confirmed. If swimmers don’t attend the clinic it may effect their ability to be eligible for squad training as this clinic will prepare swimmers to the level required to participate at squad training. This type of intensive training would normally cost approximately $100 per swimmer per day to attend however we are giving our club members the opportunity to access this training for FREE!!! There has been a lot of time and effort put into holding this clinic it would be great to see everyone attend!! PLEASE ADVISE ASAP SO WE CAN GET NUMBERS FINALISED DON'T HESITATE TO CALL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. **Note also anyone that hasn’t participated in Swim club but maybe interested in 2017/18 season is more than welcome but ensure they let us know ASAP.** Go the Barracudas!!

15.01.2022 5PM THURSDAY IMPORTANT INFORMATION Please note that due to other events on the same night we have changed the time so that parent/guardians attend.... The committee & coaches are requesting that ALL parents please attend at 5pm as there will be important information regarding squad training for ALL swimmers. This information session should take no longer than 15mins and we will follow into our meeting for those that can stay. Kids are welcome to have a swim however this meeting is held during POOL OPEN times so you will have to pay the entry fee PRIOR TO SWIMMING and parents and guardians will be responsible for their supervision.

15.01.2022 Hi Swim Club Members Most of you would know that Karen Frost passed away suddenly, Karen was a dedicated and passionate swimmer/committee member/parent of the Blackall Barracuda over many years. To honour Karen’s commitment over the years we would like to organise a ‘Guard of Honour’ at her funeral which is to be held 11am, Friday, 09 June at the Anglican Church, Blackall - this is unofficial time/date yet to be officially confirmed till Wednesday I believe, if it is changed ...I will send an update ASAP. It would be great if we could get as many people (past & present welcome) to wear their Blackall Barracuda shirts and gather together at the rear of the church before/during the ceremony so they can be part of the ‘Guard of Honour’ at the end of the service. We are also considering placing a stopwatch with Karen’s collection of memorabilia that will be displayed at the funeral, if you or of you have anyone in particular you may have in mind to place this please let me know as we are happy for suggestions of who would be most appropriate for this. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Frost family, Karen was a vibrant person, always willing to help and will be missed by all. Regards Nicole Heumiller

07.01.2022 POSTPONED It is very disappointing that we have had to postpone the intensive training week over the school holidays. The visiting coaches etc will not be able to make it out on the week planned due to them being appointed to the role of Qld Swimming Team Coach and their commitment for this requires them to be available for the week they intended coming to Blackall :( BUT they are still keen to come out so we will have some new dates very shortly so watch this space ;)
