The Blackall QCWA proudly support women throughout all stages of their lives through our activities, charity and friendship. Please use this post to reach out for help or to share some great ideas you might have for mothers in our wonderful community.... e.g. I'm looking to start swimming lessons with my children at the Blackall pool, how do I sign up? e.g. I have a cot and change table that we no longer need, would anyone be interested? e.g. My baby (1 month) isn't sleeping well, any suggestions? e.g. I'm looking for support to study while being a full-time mum, are there grants for study costs and what are my childcare options in Blackall? 11.01.2022 Blackall CWA Sandstone Memorial Seat The seat was presented to the Memorial Park in June 1927 by the Blackall Branch of the Country Womens` Association to commemorate those who served in World War One. The seat was unveiled by the Governor of Queensland on the 11th October 1927 on an official visit to the town. The seat was later restored in 1993. The inscription reads: "Dedicated in grateful remembrance of the deeds of our gallant soldiers in the Great War 1914 - 1918" ... Today, on the 11th Novmeber - Remembrance Day, we would like to share the history of this memorial and to share our gratitude to the many country women and their families who gave so much in times of conflict. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

03.01.2022 Thank you to ABC Western Queensland for sharing this interview with the President of the Blackall RSL Sub Branch, who discusses the many roles rural women have played during armed conflict for Australia. Today is a day to remember, may their service never be forgotten. #remembranceday #ruralwomen Later today we will be paying a visit to the Blackall CWA Sandstone Seat located in the Memorial Park, which serves as a testament to local individuals who served in the Great War. The memorial was inaugurated by the Blackall Branch of the Australian Country Women's Association in June 1927.
