25.01.2022 Have you checked out our front section recently? Its hard to picture what it looked like before the renos but the lodge has shaped and evolved many times throughout history... Flashback to Watch Your Step: 2013. The rest of the place was carpeted, however the front room hosted many soul groovers and shakers in that time. A Watch Your Step weekender transported you to the 60's at the best of times, something we pride ourselves in at the lodge. To send you back in time or into the future. Escaping the chaos of the valley, where a whole night can go by and time is meaningless. Paolo Ji

22.01.2022 As much as we wanted an indoor pool, unfortunately Dan and I didn't quite have the resources or qualifications. So we settled for this. All of it made from re-used wood and furniture we restored by hand ourselves (more stories to come regarding the history of the furniture soon). Isolation project #1 complete! Special thanks to Bob and Kelso for lending us tools and expert advice. Also big ups to Julia and Adarsh for putting up with my shit chat and actually getting some productive work done.

21.01.2022 Sad to see another amazing artist pass, as Betty Wright joins Bill Withers, Tony Allen and Florian Schneider (Kraftwerk) on the other side. She was such a versatile artist who two stepped through the dance floors of time ranging from 60's soul & rnb, 70's funk, 80's disco, 90's house and a bunch of modern r&b and hip hop samples. I was pleasantly surprised to discover she was the belting vocal behind Peter Browns 'Dance with Me.' How amazing is she in this video!? Vaughan Mason also passed away yesterday. He was not only responsible for many roller disco anthems, but his later formed band Raze - were busting out golden underground house records that set the standard for what house music could be, before people even know what 'house' was! I find myself constantly expanding my record collection whether it's to support interesting up and coming bands or simply songs to add to DJ sets. Forged by pain, alienation and torturous self doubt. Syl said when it was released, it picked up massive popularity in the black community. 'You had plenty of white people who don't care nothing about you talking about being black.' explains Syl. Saying things like 'Why wouldn't it sing "is it because i'm white"?' ...You can feel more weight in just a few minutes of this song than someone could put writing down the long tragic history of black oppression. No bookings required however because we're running on a limited capacity, there will be an entry fee of $10. First in best dressed.
