23.01.2022 Listening to Deadly Podcasts!!! What are you upto on this beautiful Sunday??
23.01.2022 Native: Before the English colonisers arrived on the shores of our Great Island home there were only ever "people" who lived here. Once the colonisers set foot on the land they labelled and invented the "native". That immediately dehumanised the Indigenous people of the Land, which then allowed the colonisers to commit all kinds and any number of atrocities on Aboriginal people throughout this Land. 15.01.2022 For Aboriginal people "colonialism" is not part of the past, but is still part of the present, and is a continuing process. The event of colonisation has a lasting and continuing effects on both the Indigenous population (Aboriginal people) and the colonising population (Australian people). Many Aboriginal people do not identify as Australian, and identify themselves by their Traditional Land/Country and Traditional Language, or as Aboriginal, or First Nations peoples. #Lexicon #Culture #Aboriginal #Knowledge #AboriginalTermsOfReference #Education #Colonialism

13.01.2022 Aboriginal People have made the English Language into an Aboriginal Language in the added meaning they have given to the English words; for example "Land". Land has great spiritual and emotional significance. Land /Country remains our Country no matter who lives on it - the Traditional Owners will forever remain the Traditional Owners. The imposed Western Society sees Land as as a piece of Real Estate, something that can be bought and sold. Another such word is "family". Most... non-Aboriginal people understand family to be blood relatives; however with Aboriginal families it includes non-blood relatives, then it stretches further to include the whole Aboriginal Community. As Aboriginal people we have obligations and responsibilities, especially to our young people and the Elders in our community. Lastly the word "Deadly", which means Awesome, Fantastic, Brilliant, Excellent or Very Good...In the dictionary Deadly is described as mortal, and fatal mean causing or capable of causing death. Deadly is used of something that is certain or very likely to cause death. Tag someone who is "DEADLY"!!! Have a Deadly Day #AboriginalEnglish #Deadly #Podcasts See more
