24.01.2022 "Bio-char is proving to be the greatest, most significant and beneficial revolution in organic growing techniques in half a century" (Peter Cundall retired host Gardening Australia ABC, Oct 28th 2015, Weekly Times)

18.01.2022 Tahitian Lime trees, these are a nongrafted variety and have multiple stems from ground level rather than branches from a main trunk. A bit hard to see in the pic, but I actually cut them back below trellis height last year in the hope they will spread sideways to cover the trellis, both are laden with young fruit. Again these are grown in a raised bed with lots of compost, good drainage and about 10% biochar to soil volume.

16.01.2022 This our Moorepark Apricot, yes we have to net our fruit trees, if we didn't, the Adelaide rosellas would eat them all. This tree is a really heavy cropper, and I have already thinned it earlier in the season. It was planted in a mound incorporating lots of compost with added biochar to our soil as we are basically on clay here, it is also heavily mulched with pea straw. Apricot jam and crumble not too far away!

02.01.2022 Our sultana grape vines shading the north facing front of our house. These are grown in a raised bed and have benefited from our adding Baaa & Char. It's an 80/20 blend of aged sheep manure and biochar we forked lightly through the top soil of the beds in Spring. We have great leaf cover to keep the sun off the front windows, and also a very heavy crop of grapes, which we have thinned over the last couple of weeks.
