Ridden by Keira McLeod from Wide Bay Equestrian Park. He was a real gentleman among all the other horses, a credit to the Andalusian Breed. See his test on the link below: https://youtu.be/Wx7ceCf8Wew

24.01.2022 The Andalusian is excellent at this. You will notice the Spanish flag near the end of the video.

20.01.2022 We are well into breeding season already and GP Sonardo's semen is in demand. Frozen, Chilled and Fresh semen available.

20.01.2022 We missed him the day he left. Sold to his forever home a couple of months ago, west of Caboolture. Black Diamond Park Montez (Monty). Sire:- Our Stallion GP Sonardo, Dam:- GP Cardeena. He is an Australian Andalusian. A gentleman from the day he was born. Our thanks to Karl Dunning for breaking him in. You will probably see him competiting in the dressage arena in the future. Has huge potential.

19.01.2022 Black Diamond Park had another successful breeding season ending late in February where we were offering fresh, chilled and frozen semen from our Pure Spanish Stallion (PRE) G P Sonardo. All collection, processing, AI of our mares and outside horses (using ultrasound & deep horn insemination technique) on site at our stud with our updated facilities. The whole process being handled by myself, John and my wife Dr. Sally Whalan (registered Veterinarian). We will be again offering our services (Semen and AI) to a limited number of outside mares in the forthcoming season.

18.01.2022 Merry Christmas - Feliz Navidad - to all our friends and clients. Trying to get some down time, hope you do too!

06.01.2022 Success at the Qld State Andalusian Horse Assoc of Aust. Show over the last 3 days. We took 4 horses- GP Sonella, GP Sonardo, Arion Tesora and BDP Montez. All horses came away with a State Championships and the big surprise was Gotico Park Sonella with rider Keira McLeod winning the overall Supreme Champion Ridden Andalusian Horse ( the Don Baxter Memorial Trophy) against some really good horses. Lovely riding Keira- we are so proud of you. A big thank you to Qld AHAA committee. Very well run show and so many gorgeous Baroque horses ( Fresians, Lippizaners, Lusitanos as well as the Andalusians). Better photos to come.

04.01.2022 Another PRE Spanish Andalusian foal for the season. Black Colt - Sire: GP Sonardo (our stallion) Dam: Arion Tesora Mia. AI at Black Diamond Park. Mare was a maiden. I had to show her what her udder was for, she thought they just grew on love.

03.01.2022 GP Sonella (PRE Spanish mare) also at Maryborough Park dressage day. Scored 63.10% in Prelim 1B - 3rd place. Thanks to Keira McLeod, Wide Bay Equestrian Park, she is improving every outing.

02.01.2022 We had a major storm last night. 60 + mm torrential rain hail & gale force winds (rain gauge partially tipped over) in 2 hours. Described by weather forecasters as a tornado. All our livestock survived but internal fencing is a mess with full size blue gum trees pulled out by roots & branches everywhere. House stables & sheds all ok. Main thing is we and our horses & cattle survived, including 1 & half month old calves.

01.01.2022 GP Sonella (PRE Spanish Andalusian) Doing a Prelim test at a MARC event on 2nd June 2019

01.01.2022 FEDERAL COUNCIL UPDATE After our National AGM and subsequent Council Meeting on the 29th April, we have a new Fed. Council made up of Members from all States an...d covering most interests and disciplines. Id like to thank all of the Council for the confidence theyve shown in myself (WA) and John Whalan (Queensland) to fulfil the roles of President and Vice President for the next year. I dont suppose we could have been geographically much further away from each other thank goodness for the internet! Also, a big thankyou to Christine Shanahan and Di Baxter who, as retiring Office Bearers, have given so much to the AHAA over the last few years. And to Yvonne Bell who has retired after a long haul on the Council; and Barbara Davies, and subsequently, Michael Koch. We all appreciate their efforts. Congratulations and thanks to Warwick Blacker, Di Baxter and Merle Ireland who were re-elected for another term; and not forgetting our continuing Councillors. Our Branch Reports have revealed that most of the proposed events have been either cancelled or postponed due Covid 19. These are strange and difficult times with isolation restrictions, most particularly for those who so recently experienced the trauma of Bushfires and then Floods late last year. The Council is looking for new ways to meet the needs of our amazing AHAA Members so suggestions and feedback will be very welcome. We have a proposal for an On-Line Breed Show which will be presented to the next Council Meeting on 27th May. More news on that later on. Finally, could I encourage all Members to check out their State Branch Committees and consider volunteering for any vacancies. State Branches form the basis of the AHAA and we rely on them for much of the day to day AHAA experience of our Members. It is the State Branches who organise and finance most of the Branch activities often with limited resources, so assistance and feedback from our Members is crucial. Indications are that our Membership Renewals and Registrations have dropped from the previous year, so although we are financially secure, we do not have quite the same income as expected for 2020. Stay safe everyone and enjoy your wonderful horses. See more
