25.01.2022 It was wonderful to catch up with so many familiar faces at our recent Opening Doors alumni event! The energy in the room was incredible, and many new connectio...ns, networks and friendships were formed. Extra special thanks go to our 2015 graduate Emma Finch, who guided us through a brilliant creative workshop for The Black Dog Community Art Project. Thank you for your generosity and wisdom, and for making the day such a memorable one for all of us!

23.01.2022 We are well into March 2020 and I would like to introduce you to my NEW CREATIVE Art Therapy HUB, an extension of our annual Black Dog Community Art Project Exhibition. It is located in Clayton, at Monash Community Inn. 72 Clayton Road, Clayton, 3168. Our beautiful Hub is the perfect space to come and create artworks around the themes: Anxiety, Depression, Isolation and Loneliness. We can take on large groups, small groups and individuals wanting to come together for a nurtu...ring experience. Just come along for a chat, a coffee or tea. Bring your own work, or enjoy directed and non-directed sessions in our Open Studio format. You do not need to be good at art to attend, just a willingness to explore, create and play. It's about making connections with yourself and your local community and not being or feeling that you are alone. 20.01.2022 Today we ran a workshop during the Monash Community Arts Expo in which people were invited to make a creative response to this years exhibition. Here is a sneak peek at some of the creations that will be on display in the coming weeks. Thank you to all that participated today as well as those who visited the gallery and stayed for a chat. 20.01.2022 As we entre the third month to 2020, it is time to begin thinking about The Black Dog Community Art Project Exhibition, more news on this coming soon. I am very pleased to announce that as an extension to our Black Dog Annual Exhibition, I have now opened a NEW CREATIVE HUB in the City of Monash at Monash Community Inn. 72 Clayton Road, Clayton, 3168. It is a beautiful venue to come and create some artworks in, or come for a chat and have a tea or coffee. It is a safe nurturi...ng space for you to drop in and create artworks around anxiety, depression, isolation and loneliness. I am OPEN on Monday afternoons 2.15pm - 6.00pm. Come for an hour or stay all afternoon. Just message me that you will be attending. (see below for contact details) Mobile: 0415 278 580 or Email: [email protected] Bookings are essential, we have a large hall so can cater for a few participants or a large group. Costs: $20.00 Concession: $10.00 Some materials are provided. Come along, bring a friend or colleague, bring a family member. We have some specific workshops coming up which may interest you. We work directly and non-directly. Use the space as an Open Studio for your own work, or I can help in getting you started. Seeing and hearing about the works that have been entered along with others responses to the works has been wonderful. If you havent made it down please come and say hello we would love to see you. 16.01.2022 It is important to remember to ask your friends, family and colleagues R U OK. Today at a local girls school I helped celebrate their R U OK day celebration. The students created a banner, six comments can be seen below. The banner will be going into Alone: With the Black Dog Community Art Project Exhibition in a couple of weeks time. I would like to take this opportunity to ask you if you are ok today? Over a 100 girls came to my table, thank you for sharing.

09.01.2022 If you are at a loss as to what to do, pop on down and let out your creative thoughts and turn them into artworks, free from judgements and criticism. As there is no right or wrong way to create. Here is a safe contained space to explore your own thoughts on anxiety, depression, loneliness and isolation. Laugh, cry, chat, work in silence, all are acceptable ways to communicate your innermost thoughts. Come and discover yourself, a wonderful celebration and journey to take. Allow yourself time to just be, and look after yourself by doing some art therapy work. I will be there to support you as you discover your inner world.

05.01.2022 I experienced this and lost a group of girlfriends when l told them of my attacks by one particular man. They assumed l was lying as my abuser was a very nice, out going man who thrived in building the self esteem in his women friends. I bare the fruits of his evilness, and the consequences to my mental health as l lost friends as well as my life. He went on to teach in a secondary girls Catholic private school. Im horrified by this. I for one know, nice men are not always nice regardless what their peers think.

02.01.2022 Good evening Friends, I wanted to share some exciting news happening tomorrow at the Mount Waverley Community Centre 47 Miller Crescent, Mount Waverley (the building our current exhibition is in) ... as a part of tomorrows Monash Arts Expo Take part in the arts! A FREE event to celebrate the role of arts in the City of Monash. Sunday 6 October, 11am-2pm Mount Waverley Community Centre 47 Miller Crescent, Mount Waverley In conjunction with our Exhibition at the Track Gallery, Emma Finch and team from the Black Dog Community Art Project will be running two 45 minute art therapy workshops. Registrations for workshops are now open! Places will fill up fast, so to secure your booking please call 9518 3636. Participants will create a response to the exhibition by using mixed media. Artworks will be displayed on the Black Dog website and will be collated as a community artwork. Please note: The below workshops are for adult participants. Many other drop-in activities will be happening on the day for all ages. Art Therapy Workshop with Emma Finch and team.
