24.01.2022 So what do you do when the grass ain't growing? Weed! Its only a small front lot to an Industrial site, but the mass sure mounts up, 3 hours down, 1 to go. Then some serious mulching me thinks :-)

23.01.2022 Creating a vege garden for a client, reducing my workload but still sooooo nice to do and see

22.01.2022 the composting system @590Blackgate Three bins creating some compost magic

22.01.2022 Another step in the creation of great soils and minimising waste. Thanks to the genius who modified the cement mixer! Run the bonfire, sift the soil and ash, stack the big stuff for the next burn. Repeat

22.01.2022 Can slash! Working at RiverFalls for Gary Plumridge who owes me BIG time for making me work Christmas Eve Eve instead of knocking off early! Still got a bit too do though, so there's the spare days in January sorted

20.01.2022 If any of my clients need their gardens done in PNG, Jack may be able to assist. . Looking good

19.01.2022 Composting 2020. Its been 6 months since the new compost bins were installed and time to work some magic Video to follow showing how its done #compost #590Blackgate

18.01.2022 So you start with a very overgrown lot, you mow high, you mow low and whipper snip the edges and if there wasn't so much cut grass on the ground, it would look like a cricket pitch! Neighbours happy its cleared. Neighbours maybe not so happy as it blows around - fortunately the wind will take it away #johndeere #blackgategardenmaintenance

14.01.2022 The finished surround & fill. I love the little 'challenge' steps the 4 year old wanted in!

12.01.2022 Aaaah composting! New bins in place, should last me out Bin 3 New batch of sifted compost -done Bin 2 Turned into and probably not far off ready Bin 1 Ready to fill ... All bins bigger capacity too

10.01.2022 Can pressure wash! Major area that took a very long time but is coming up so well Photo - What it was, What it is, What it shall be!

10.01.2022 Playground time! Chip out the poisoned grass, move in the soft fall, put in the edging and back fill and there's a much safer place to play! Yay!

09.01.2022 My work environment can be very taxing at times! Can't even lie down without the likes of these two jumping all over me, licking my face, groaning with delight when their ears are tickled, etc etc. Breamlea will be getting a LOT of visits now

09.01.2022 Waiting, waiting, waiting for the next working day

06.01.2022 Working Dog Day, but who invited those damn birds, it's my dam #damdog #awdr

06.01.2022 There’s just something very satisfying about laying mulch 2nd layers going in after 5-6 years I think

04.01.2022 Hmmm, should have been called in a bit earlier on this one. Lost the mower at one point :-) After two hour weeding and mowing (on this small lot), sadly I was too knackered to take an after shot. Needless to say it looks magnificent now

04.01.2022 Can Slash!! New Deutscher (just the baby one) cutting through 2-3 feet high grass. Nice and slow on one round, if it needed to be flash, would go over it again on 'fast' like the 3rd picture! No more destroying the ride-on (which GSW Grounds Care will be happy about!)... And no more kidneys shaken to pieces over rough ground which I am happy about :-) BTW, walking over this area allowed me to pick up a dozen golf balls - must take it up one day!

03.01.2022 The Cherries needed protection so just got this up on time. Relatively cheap, certainly re-usable, easy to erect, and a lot more effective than draping netting over

01.01.2022 And when you pressure wash, most of the mud seemed to end up on me! What to do? Oh yea, I have a pressure washer!!

01.01.2022 So back in October I started the next bed. Today it's pretty well finished and the first vintage barrow and an equally vintage leaf rake are in place. And to those who believe the 'tip mulch' brings in weeds, nothing here, nothing in Septembers work, a couple in August's work, not bad in my books Now to consider the planting. Something dramatic against the boring (but effective) pines. More Robinia's says Berna. Maybe ornamental plums says Andrew. Maybe a mix. Most likely outcome....Robinia's (I am a coward basically) but that will come next year along with a watering system to combat those Pines!
