23.01.2022 A common question I get asked, is can I use finance to purchase this truck, trailer or vehicle from a private seller? The simple answer is generally YES however, there are a few more checks and balances that need to be completed in order to satisfy the requirements set by the lender and ensure that you are covered when exchanging funds including: - Getting an inspection and/or roadworthy for the goods... - Completing PPSR Checks for the goods - Checking the seller is the actual owner of the goods - If the goods are under finance, ensuring the seller’s finance contract has been paid - Double checking there is a match between the name on the bank details and the sellers name. BTW The good news is if you engage me to organise the finance for the goods for you, I personally do all this legwork on your behalf without you having to lift a finger. 15.01.2022 Were you aware the Instant Asset Write-off Scheme Had Been Extended? Following the Government’s announcement in March that they would be increasing the Instant Asset Write-off Scheme from $30,000 to $150,000. In June, the Government extended the deadline to participate in the Scheme from 30 June 2020 to 31 December 2020; giving businesses an extra 6 months to purchase new and/or used assets and write-off the full depreciation of the asset in the financial year they purchase t...he goods (rather than writing off the depreciation over the life of the asset). The benefit to small businesses in taking part in a Scheme like this is that a business can reduce their tax bill in the financial year the asset is purchased by writing off the asset's full depreciation amount in one go (rather than over the life of the asset). 13.01.2022 With 2.2GW of rooftop solar installed in 2019 (up from 1.6GW in 2018 and almost double the amount installed in 2017) according to the Clean Energy Council, you don’t need to be an economist to see that the popularity of solar energy in Australia is on the rise. With this in mind, an increasing question, I have been asked by business owners in recent months, is can I finance the installation of solar panels on my business premises? The answer to this question is absolutely YES... and the good news is with quite a few lenders now offering Clean Energy loans specifically so that businesses can install solar on their premises it makes it even easier to get approved.
