25.01.2022 Crawling out of the dark and damp weekend to meet Reptile Monday.
25.01.2022 A recreation of a street scene in old York.
24.01.2022 The MBAS Blues Challenge is done and dusted for 2017 and congratulations to Kelly Auty and her band, Max, Nick and Boris, on their win! Here are a few shots from the night with more detailed sets of each band to follow over the weekend.
24.01.2022 The beauty of nature.
23.01.2022 Is Reptile Monday here yet?
23.01.2022 Last Reptile Monday before Christmas so try not to be too snappy!
23.01.2022 Here comes that Reptile Monday again!
23.01.2022 Signs of York's history are everywhere in the city, incorporated into day to day in a seamless manner.
23.01.2022 First up in the band category for the MBAS Blues Challenge were Checkerboard Lounge, laying down the groove with the legendary Shannon Bourne on guitar and the equally legendary Tim Neal on hammond.
21.01.2022 The second set for the band category of the MBAS Blues Challenge was the recently renamed Rhythm X Revival, who competed last year as JLS & Co. New name aside, John-Luke Shelley and his compadres entertained the crowd with their trademark energetic blues.
20.01.2022 Thank god it's hump day.
20.01.2022 Fourth set of the MBAS Blues Challenge, and eventual winner on the night, was the Kelly Auty Band, who produced a set of powerful blues that had the appreciative crowd screaming for more.
20.01.2022 I love shooting along beaches. The opportunities are endless!
18.01.2022 Flat out like a lizard waiting for Reptile Monday.
17.01.2022 Kinda feels all sleepy and yawny so far this morning.
16.01.2022 The outside of the old Micklegate Priory in York.
15.01.2022 This is not a photography post but I figure there's a lot of music lovers who watch this page and in any case, this will make you all feel good. Stevie Paige has been struggling with a brain tumour for a few years now. The tumour was successfully removed earlier this year and Stevie has been in recovery since. She has walked a long and hard road since the day the tumour was discovered. This post I'm sharing is a new song that Stevie has just posted, recorded entirely by her a...s part of her own approach to rehabilitation, and to me, this is the first sign that she has come to end of that aforementioned hard road. From here on, she gets to choose which road she wants to take and if that's not a feel good story I don't know what one is! Have a listen to the song while you're here, I promise you that you won't regret it. And here's to many more from the wonderfully talented Steve Paige! See more
14.01.2022 Part of the armour on display at the museum near York Castle.
14.01.2022 Walking the streets of York.
12.01.2022 A curious egret.
11.01.2022 Part of the old wall around the York Castle.
11.01.2022 The Electric Blues Collective were the third set in the band category of the MBAS Blues Challenge, but I think a better name would be the Electrifying Blues Collective. The energy coming off the stage during this set could have powered the suburb for the night!
10.01.2022 Reptile Monday is all bendy this week.
10.01.2022 Another view of the exterior of the old Micklegate Priory building.
10.01.2022 Walking along the old York city wall. Such a sense of history everywhere!
08.01.2022 Clawing along toward Reptile Monday again.
08.01.2022 Isn't this just the most narked off otter you've ever seen?
07.01.2022 Reptile Monday. Again. Sometimes it's just not worth getting out of bed for it!
07.01.2022 Coming into summer, the best way to spend Reptile Monday is basking on a rock.
04.01.2022 Watching for that pesky Reptile Monday!
04.01.2022 The fifth and final set of the MBAS Blues Challenge was the Amnesia Blues Band, recipient of the 2016 Vic/Tas Blues Awards' Band of the Year, and they certainly justified that award with their heartfelt blues.
04.01.2022 Reptile Monday is feeding day...
04.01.2022 Spotted some native bees buzzing around the planter boxes on my balcony, so this one is for them.
04.01.2022 A view of a cell in the old York dungeon.
02.01.2022 The old keep of York Castle.
01.01.2022 The Church of the Holy Trinity on the site of Micklegate Priory in York. A magnificent and beautiful old building.
