01.01.2022 Reposted from my friend Virginia’s page. Hey let’s support this great Bookshop friends! What did you do during lonely Covid nights at home?... I met a whole bunch of new people, established a plan to buy the local bookshop and formed a Co-operative. Next order of business is to sell shares in order to buy and establish the only Cooperative run bookshop in Australia. Why? because stories and information are important, which makes books vital. Literacy in this country is falling ... books are the answer. And walking into a bookshop and choosing said book is important too. Soon I’ll be able to share how you can become a member of the bookshop. But in the mean time. I am very happy to be a foundation director (and chair) of The Turning Page Co-operative. Here we are after the Cooperative Formation meeting.
