25.01.2022 Canto Latino | Live in Concert at Gang Gang Gallery, Lithgow. Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 4:30 PM 6:30 PM A dynamic mix of slinky Argentinian tango with its... vibrant spices of Spanish and other Latin music styles, Canto Latino draws from a wealth of artistic experience in a unique combination of renowned performers from the Blue Mountains. While all four of these musicians have very distinctive styles with well-established reputations in separate areas, they each share a desire to venture into new territories and renovations within the Latin genre. If you are crying out for culture that is in the moment take the drive to Gang Gang Gallery and not only experience the magnificent art of the Blue Mountains but also enjoy one of the currently rare opportunities for live music with the threads of traditional Argentinean tango, Portuguese fado, Mexican ranchera and sones, South American and Spanish folklrico. Canto Latino features Amanda Handel voice Jane Andino piano Gary Daley accordion, and; Matt Handel - saxophones. Admission $25 Bookings essential. 22.01.2022 Guess who is our next workshop at BAS! @basbluemountains! In the beginners mind there are many possibilities, but in the experts, there are few Shunryu Suzuki... Feeling tight, uninspired or blocked? Always wanted to have a go at sculpture but dont know where to start? Viscous, rubbery, taut, brittle, resonant, tinny, woolly, furry, silky, splintery: this workshop will be a playdate with a range of sculptural materials from around the house, your craft stash/shed or recycling bin. Well investigate properties and possibilities of different materials, collaboratively work up some ideas, learn how to make basic armatures (support structures) and find ways to take initial ideas through to a finished work. Well look at a variety of joining and construction methods and finishes and investigate some inspiring sculptural works which use unlikely materials. This is a gentle weekend of non-competitive exploration, connection, mindful working, skill-sharing, and remembering how to bring playfulness into our activities, ending with some finished work and new perspectives. Material Happiness: Small Sculpture workshop is up next! Dates: 19th ,20th September Tutor: Margarita Sampson Time: 10am 4pm Member fee: $140 Non-member fee: $180 Get in quick!!!
