01.01.2022 With the 75th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki fast approaching, numerous events and films will draw attention to the events over the next couple of weeks, starting this afternoon with a screening of Mark Street's 2019 documentary "Can Art Stop a Bullet: William Kelly's Big Picture", a portrait of Australian artist William Kelly. The documentary was filmed across five continents and features interviews with artists, activists, philosophers and writers inc...luding Martin Sheen, A.C. Grayling, Ian McLean and Sasha Grishin. It tells the story behind the artist's iconic 2016 commission for the State Library of Victoria - a 3-storey-high banner exhibited in the LaTrobe Reading Room - and, in doing so, reveals the artist’s long career in art and activism. The film, facilitated by Charles Nodrum Gallery, which will present an exhibition of Kelly's works later this year, will be live streamed at 5pm AEST, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers at approximately 6:30pm. Access to the live stream costs USD$7.99 To get access to the live stream of the film, follow the link and then click 'Get Access Now' and follow the prompts. https://www.fanforcetv.com/programs/casab-anz
