Black Mountain Hideaway is a farm 500m above sea level in the heart of cool tropical rainforest 5 located adjacent to Mowbray river and Big Mowbray Falls, Black Mountain road Julatten. ... We at Black Mountain teach everything horsey like riding, caring and looking after them, to include, feeding, grooming hoof care, first aid, presentation for show, correct equipment use. Everyone will experience life on a real farm. (No devices). We have new jungle trails along the river, exciting activities like games on horse back, trail riding in the jungle, river trips and fancy dress Friday party for horses. WHEN: Monday Dec17th - Friday 21st Dec 2018. Min Stay 3 days up to 5 days @ $110.00 per day. 20.01.2022 Hi everyone, greetings from Black Mountain Hideaway. A huge thank you to all my wonderful students and helpers. A good time was had by all.... Please enjoy our story from the Jan 2020 camp. We had not much rainnone before xmas so too hot and crisp for camp. Recently we had just enough rain to cool the tropical heat and green the grass and hold a camp for youngsters, however grateful we are for last week's wonderful weather for camp we need much more. 16.01.2022 JUNE HOLIDAY HORSE CAMP 2017 In Julatten from Monday 26th June to Friday 30th June Come and stay with us on our farm, we have a 200-acre property on the Mowbray river with paddocks, jungle and many trails.... Black Mountain Hideaway has 25 beautiful hand raised horses that have been especially trained for your learning enjoyment. Suzie and her team can cater to any level of riding. Total beginners are most welcome, as well as those who wish to improve skills. We teach communication with horses, safety for and around horses, grooming, feeding and daily care. Black Mountain Hideaway has been professionally approved since 2005. (14 years in operation), practicing Natural horsemanship, participants can learn additional life skills such as cooking, first aid, working dogs, growing food, caring for land. Young people have the opportunity to experience life on a real farm without the need for electronic devices. The young people will have riding lessons, play games on horseback, go trail riding, bare back riding, fancy dress, discover forest trails to the Mowbray River, and much more. There is a bunkhouse and tents for sleeping on the farm. We cater for children aged 8 to 18 years - $ 110.00 per day/night, you can stay for 5 days, including all meals. 16.01.2022 Hello Everyone there is a lot of carry on about the cyclone, we have been tracking Owen and here at the farm we have not had much rain, Owen looks like he will pitter out and we will not get much rain up here compared to south of us (Townville & inland) most definately not north of Cairns. Horse camp is on Monday and we are not soggy, Black Mountain Road is good. If anyone has concerns and would like to watch where the rain is look at the Qld radar BOM site and you can enjoy watching was looking a bit exciting yesterday however today a fizzer, the news really talked it up this morning, thankyou for everyones concern we did batten down the hatches better to be safe then sorry..regards Suzie

03.01.2022 Puppies from farm bred stock They are Mini Cattle Dogs, with Lithgow Collies from outback Queensland and crossed with Farm bred Tenterfiend terrier. They are smart tough great with kids, guard like a cattle dog and soft with people like a collie, loyal and faithful. No fuss great additions to any family. Great companions for elderly small and neat and quick on their feet no falling over these dogs if you are disabled and slow (myself) Vet checked, vaccinated, micro chipped, breeder registered with AAR. $ 450.00
