23.01.2022 BLACK OPS Currently tasked with National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) on firefighting operations from Glenbrook in the lower Blue Mountains all the way up to Denman in the upper Hunter Valley. I’ve just landed at this amazing spot next to the Hunter River while storms pass through to our South. We’ll get airborne again shortly and look for fires caused by the lightning strikes. My crewman, Simon Nicol from NPWS will then call in water bombing aircraft (currently staged at Bulga) to try and get on top of the fires before the next hot day (tomorrow) that will potentially cause further issues. #Firebird225 #NSWRFS

At this stage it is an unknown factor how long the current bushfire emergency will continue that has sadly affected so many lives in NSW/Victoria and Western Australia.
