25.01.2022 NEW NED APPOINTED TO GROW BLACK QUAY’S US PRESENCE We are pleased to announce the appointment of Molly Campbell as Non-Executive Director for Black Quay in the US, in an advisory position. Molly is a highly regarded executive in the US Ports & Maritime Sector. She previously held the position of Director of the Port of New York & New Jersey’s Port Department, where she oversaw record growth and introduction of transformational port infrastructure and business initiatives. Pri...or to that, she served as Deputy Executive Director at the Port of Los Angeles, where she managed daily operations at the largest Port in country. Molly has also served as a Financial Director for Los Angeles World Airports, and has since gone on to become a Fellow of Harvard University’s Advanced Leadership Initiative. In addition to her senior roles at ports, she has also served on numerous Boards and Committees, including Chair of the American Association of Port Authority’s Maritime Economic Development Committee, and Chair of the Port Performance Task Force. Black Quay’s involvement in US projects has grown significantly in a relatively short space of time, and it is now time to focus on our key clients there and build our service offering sustainably. Molly will act in an advisory role, based in Los Angeles and assist the company in its strategic direction. Company Director Glen Curry said ‘the appointment of Molly brings a new edge for us. As well as having earned great respect across the industry as a forward thinker and a leader, she is highly regarded internally here having been a great client of ours previously’. 24.01.2022 Black Quay has completed our study for the Western Australian Government (Westport) into various long-term container port development options for Perth and the wider State of Western Australia, determining their commercial and technical viability, as well as relative port competitiveness for multi-port scenarios.

24.01.2022 2020 Business Review Well..it’s been an interesting one. We’ve luckily managed to remain relatively insulated from the massive business disruption faced by many, and we have worked hard to adapt to our customers changing needs, including increased online working. We have found that whilst some projects were either being postponed or cancelled at the beginning of the Covid19 crisis, the majority of these kicked back off again by the 3rd quarter. Indeed, we have won multiple p...rojects over the last couple of months and we will hopefully be able to share these with you all soon. Needless to say, they are interesting and geographically well spread! The development of the much anticipated South Australian Ports Masterplan has taken up much of our year and is now approaching is exciting conclusion. We have delivered several complex offshore wind studies around the world, including assessment of how they can be logistically built and managed. We have also delivered several Covid19 impact studies in North America, Europe and Australia, concluding some controversial opinions on how the global supply chain would react, and I’m glad to say we’ve been proven correct so far! People have had their eyes opened to just how essential a healthy supply chain is and how delicate our systems and ways of life really are. We assisted in the delivery of the New Zealand North Island Supply Chain Study, and also helped deliver multiple port related transactions. It’s been a busy year, and 2021 promises to be even busier, and we are continuing to explore new ways of working and how to innovate further for our key clients. I would like to thank our staff and clients for your continuing support and wish you all a happy holiday, and perhaps dare I say it, a more stable 2021.

22.01.2022 BLACK QUAY AWARDED THE CONTRACT TO DELIVER SOUTH AUSTRALIA'S LONG-TERM PORT MASTERPLAN Black Quay have been selected to deliver the long-term masterplan for Flinders Ports in South Australia. The detailed study will break new ground in strategic port planning in Australia, introducing worlds best practice, and will ensure that all seven of the ports under Flinders Port Holdings control are best equipped to deal with a changing world and to maximise the sea-based trading pot...ential of the State over the next 50 + years. This includes the international container terminal at Port Adelaide, Port Pirie, Port Lincoln, Port Giles, Klein Point, Wallaroo and Thevenard. The project is expected to take up to a year to complete and will examine the various ports individually and holistically from numerous perspectives including technical, logistical, commercial, financial, social and environmental factors, culminating in a preferred development path. The plan will consider all trade types (both current and potential) including containers, bulk, general cargo, and the States growing cruise tourism demand. The plan will also include FPHs successful landside logistics business, Flinders Logistics amongst several other distinct business streams. Glen Curry, Black Quays Managing Director said - FPH is a key client and one which we align with culturally. To be able to work with them to deliver such a fundamental part of their strategy is the sort of work we strive to be involved in and make a difference. There is good potential for Flinders Ports to continue to differentiate themselves in the Australian Ports Sector through strong and considered planning and by showing good corporate leadership. I think the development of the masterplan will help serve this, as well as deliver a strategy for the betterment of the entire State of South Australia.

18.01.2022 BLACK QUAY CONSULTING MARKS 5th ANNIVERSARY The late 2000s - The prime time for big consulting fish swallowing the little fish..more corporate greed than corporate responsibility. Profits above profession. I want to get off this bus, I admitted to myself. By that stage, Id spent years in senior management roles. Id also done some big things off the side of my work, and I wanted to generate that same feeling of being useful to society and taking some risks in my everyday...Continue reading

17.01.2022 We have been asked to look at supply chain rationalisation in several countries given the current crisis. Black Quay will continue to volunteer to support those who need us. Forward planning for food supply and other essential cargo is under review but is WELL IN HAND in the countries we work in, despite the fear mongering out there. What we would say is that the one risk to supply chain continuity are the morons out there panic buying and causing unnecessary spikes in demand. If you are one of those, go isolate yourself and do the world a favour.
