25.01.2022 Hydrobath Reopening Friday 5th of June Due to popular demand we have decided to reopen our hydrobath.... In doing so we still have some changes in place so we can adhere to social distancing requirements. 1 Please book a time for your bath (please do not turn up without a booking) 2 - Please only 1 person may enter the clinic to advise of arrival and pay for the use of the bath 3 Please then enter the bath via the gate with your pet, use the facilities and then leave via the gate once you have finished and cleaned up. You will be strictly allocated 45min to use the facilities. Thank you and have fun getting wet

24.01.2022 Covid 19 update As I am sure you are all aware, the cases of covid-19 are increasing in our local area. This has prompted me to make some changes to protect the staff, our clients and the clinic. Face masks... Like all areas in Melbourne metro and Mitchell shire we will be wearing face masks and request that you also wear a face mask that covers your mouth and nose. We understand that there are some circumstances where this is not possible, in which case please call and advise us and we will do our best to determine a contactless arrangement that works for you. Hydrobath The hydrobath facilities will be closed from Friday 24th of July. This area will be used as a drop off area for our patients. Contactless consults With some reluctance I am implementing contactless consults. This means that on arrival you stay in your car, give us a call and we will give you further instructions. Door bell To try and reduce the number of people in the clinic, we are closing the front door and installing a door bell. Please ring the bell and we will come to you as soon as we can. We will be allowing only 1 person in reception at any one time to ensure adequate physical distancing is observed for everybody's safety. I apologise for any inconvenience and understand your frustration as we all adjust to the new processes. Our priority is your pet and keeping them by your side during this tough time. Please be patient with the staff, we are all doing the best we can. We can work together. Please advise us if you are unwell or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive to Covid-19 and arrange for someone else to bring your pet in if the issue is urgent. Thank you for all your support and understanding. Stay safe everyone. Juliet and staff at Black Rock Animal Hospital.

24.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has donated money to Vets for Compassion via our donation box so far. We will continue collecting donations as long as they keep coming as every little bit helps.

21.01.2022 ****UPDATE! OWNER FOUND!**** This lovely ginger male was brought into us today after being found injured in someone's driveway on Balcombe Road (Bluff Road end). We suspect he has been hit by a car and is currently being treated for injuries.... We cannot find a microchip so haven't been able to track down the owners. If you think this is your cat or have any information please contact us ASAP on 9589 0777. Bayside Council has been notified.

21.01.2022 Due to us implementing contactless consults Sampson is missing all the people that come to see him each day. He was even trying to chat to our new stickers Stay safe everyone

21.01.2022 We are in need of towels!! If anyone is having a clean out we will happily take them off your hands. Thanks in advance

20.01.2022 This time of year we often have babies brought into the clinic. Often mum or dad are nearby watching their babies learn how to be independent. Here is a useful guide to help you determine if your intervention is needed.

20.01.2022 We are supporting Vets for Compassion in the work they are doing with our injured wildlife. We have a donations box at the clinic or see the link on their page if youd like to donate.

18.01.2022 **UPDATE** Hitchcock has been reunited with his very happy owner. Hopefully we will have pictures to show you soon once he has settled back in at home

17.01.2022 We Are Open With stage 4 restrictions coming into effect this week we wanted to reassure our clients that we are an essential service and we are open. We will continue to conduct contactless consults which means that we ask you to stay in your car while we examine your pet. Please call us at the clinic on your arrival and we will provide you with further instructions. ... Please wear face masks covering your mouth and nose at all times when speaking with our staff in person and remember to social distance. Please do not turn up to the clinic to discuss any concerns or questions you may have. Please either call us on 9589 0777 or email us on [email protected] If you have a medication request please call in advance to organise. When picking them up, please ring the door bell and the staff will be happy to assist you. We must keep the number of people accessing the clinic to a minimum so that we can reduce our risk of exposure to this horrible virus. It will be devastating if we have to close. Stay safe everyone Thank you Juliet Owner of Black Rock Animal Hospital

16.01.2022 Even the staff dogs cant always escape the cone of shame. Nurse aimees dog Chloe gets the inflatable collar because she wont stop licking her ouchy!

16.01.2022 Exciting news One of our new consulting rooms is complete and is ready for tomorrow. Our reception area is complete apart from painting. ... Our second consult room still needs a little work - including sanding, final repairs to defects in walls and 3 coats of paint - Thank you for being so patient with us during this time. Juliet

12.01.2022 Coronavirus (COVID-19) At the moment it is business as usual at Black Rock Animal Hospital. The current situation is challenging and constantly changing, but we are monitoring the announcements and making decisions appropriately. Black Rock Animal Hospital care about the wellbeing of our patients, clients and staff. We want to reassure our clients that our already high standards of hygiene have been increased to protect you and us even further. We are providing hand sanitiser... at reception for our clients to use on arrival and have implemented hand washing and hand sanitisation before and after every consultation. Our nurses are ensuring that our reception area is particularly disinfected between use of equipment for example the eftpos machine. We ask that you please consider the health and safety of our staff and clients when you need to bring your pet to see us. So we ask that if you are experiencing any flu like signs for example a fever, sore throat, coughing or shortness of breath then please call us to discuss a phone consult and if we think your pet needs to be seen, please ask a family member or friend to bring your pet in for us to clinically exam and provide treatment as indicated. If you are COVID-19 positive or required to self isolate then again please talk to us about options, so if necessary your pet still can receive veterinary attention. If you are well and come in to see us, please: - Keep your distance from all people. - If you need to cough or sneeze then please cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow and please re-sanitise your hands. - Please minimise the number of people attending the clinic with you. - Always have your dog on a lead and your cat contained in a cage. If your pet is on medication(s) or prescription food, please consider how much you currently have and if you need to order more. Many products come from overseas so there maybe some interruptions in the future. We appreciate your ongoing support and trust. LETS STAY SAFE Kind regards Juliet and the entire team at Black Rock Animal Hospital

12.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE WE ARE OPEN To ensure we provide a safe work place for staff, clients and pets, we ask you to follow our guidelines and our staff instructions.... Guidelines - do not enter if you are unwell or self isolating - please only one (1) person per pet. - please wait outside if there is more than 2 people in our reception/ waiting area. - please use sanitiser on arrival and exit. - please order all food and medications by phone. We ask orders are paid for before collection to reduce your contact time in the clinic. - only one (1) month of medication will be provided so we can give all our patients the best care during this time if uncertainty. Please note that this is a rapidly changing situation and we will update any further changes to our guidelines and instructions as they occur. Please ensure you follow these guidelines and instructions so we can remain open and provide our pets with the care they need. Stay safe Juliet

12.01.2022 COVID-19 Essential service update With the recent closures of some non-essential services we have been concerned that this would at some point involve veterinarians. On Friday night we were notified by the Australian Veterinary Association that we are now classified as an essential service. Phew SO WE ARE OPEN FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.... This does not mean we will not have restricted services. We need to strictly enforce social distancing and thus we have implemented changes to ensure our clients and staff remain protected. Please: - DO NOT come to clinic if you are unwell or self-isolating - Only 1 owner per consult - Order and pay for medications and food via phone so you are only collecting - Phone to make appointments DO NOT come in to make appointments - We are spreading out appointments to limit the number of people in the clinic at one time and to allow sanitising between each client. This means we may need to delay non-essential visits like vaccinations. This is ok. Please understand sick animals must be seen immediately, vaccinations can wait a few days or a week. In the future we may have to reduce or stop elective procedures. We may have to delay vaccinations. But if your pet is unwell we will be here to continue to provide the best possible care. Please also note that the phones are struggling with the volume of calls and everyone being at home. If you can not get through on the phones. Send us an email asking us to call you. [email protected] Current clients can email with food and/ or medications requests. Thank you Juliet
