If you feel like checking out the great home made products by local artisans, listening to The Norwesterlies and Sussex Skylarks Choir (and yes there may be some dancing!) or being part of a national star weaving project against violence come on down to Olympic Village Green, cnr Southern Rd & Moreseby Crt Heidelberg West, 11 am - 2pm Phil :) http://blacksheepmusic.com.au/upcoming-gigs/

Our next gig is at the Coburg Farmers Market, Coburg North Primary School, 180 O’Hea Street, Coburg, on Saturday September 3 at 9.30 am! Come down, browse all the fresh, local produce and be entertained with some great live local music.
18.01.2022 We're a bit excited at Black Sheep Music Australia to launch this video (The Norwesterlies first video), I hope it's an enjoyable listen that can help a few more of us empathise with the guys on Manus, Nauru and in detention here...and to take action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sY1AMM7L_U0
18.01.2022 Community choir at Sussex Neighbourhood House in Pascoe Vale, starting this afternoon! This is the latest venture from Black Sheep Music Australia. All welcome. Hopefully we won't need to put fingers in our ears, should be fun!
17.01.2022 "Learn to play ukelele step by step using fun songs and techniques in a community atmosphere". A second beginners adult ukelele class is opening up at Sussex Neighbourhood House (7 Prospect St. Pascoe Vale) in term 4! Taught by Phil Hudson from Black Sheep Music, the class runs on Tuesdays 11.45 am - 12.45 pm, starting 15 October and running 8 weeks. Get in quick as it's popular (the 10.30 am class is full) and this new class is likely to fill up quickly. Fees very reasonable $100/80 - you'll need to pay the fees to book your spot. Learn to play something new & have fun doing it!
16.01.2022 Black Sheep Music is excited in the Pascoe Vale in the Park festival this Saturday - Great community event - and The Norwesterlies and Sussex Skylarks are both playing!
16.01.2022 I had the privilege of doing a live recording this week, to coincide with National Reconciliation Week. May we all try to take a few steps down Grace Road...
16.01.2022 The community choir I lead, The Sussex Skylarks, were featured in an article in this week's Moreland Leader - and they even quoted me :) We're in the running to win a community grant to pay for our own PA system to amplify our performances and help our rehearsals. If you feel like voting for us (you have up to 10 votes) that would be great - voting closes tomorrow (Friday). You will need a login but to make it easier, see attached sheets. Thanks, Phil, Black Sheep Music http://blacksheepmusic.com.au/sussex-skylarks-in-the-news/
12.01.2022 For anyone who wants to sing to support refugees and asylum seekers! I'm helping to pull together an impromptu street choir for Sydney Rd Street Festival Sunday March 5. Rehearsal next Wednesday 6pm!
11.01.2022 Look out Coburg! Sussex Skylarks - the Community Choir that Phil from Black Sheep Music leads - will be spreading their (vocal) wings this Saturday morning from 9.30 am at the Coburg Farmers' Market (Coburg North Primary School 180 O'Hea St). 10.01.2022 Feel like a great family festival right next to the pool? Well tomorrow Black Sheep Music's The Norwesterlies and community choir Sussex Skylarks will be part of the free live music, market stalls, jumping castle, local arts & crafts & community groups and petting zoo at the Pascoe Vale Festival at the Pool. Enjoy the fun and harmonies of the Skylarks (1pm) and boogie to the Norwesterlies (2pm). And of course cool off with a dip!
04.01.2022 The Norwestelies' first music video 'Five Years', featuring the amazing work of refugee artists is dedicated to the thousands of courageous women, men & children who've been punished by our phobias and waited so long to be given freedom. With an election coming soon we as a country have the chance & the freedom to say who we want to be. 03.01.2022 If you are around in Brunswick on Sunday at the Sydney Rd Street Party and want to sing for refugees, come and be part of Black Sheep Music's annual impromptu choir. Old Civil Rights tunes, fun and meaningful to sing together. There will also be refugee storytelling for kids after each set :)
01.01.2022 Black Sheep Music offers two different programs in Melbourne schools: Social Issues through Songwriting, which is a five week program where students write and record a song about a social (justice) or environmental issue, helping them connect and contribute to their world. And from term 3, book a qualified DRUMBEAT facilitator from Black Sheep Music to run a ten week program with the cohort of your choice. In brief, it's the 'world’s first structured learning program using music, psychology and neurobiology to reconnect with ourselves & others' - Contact us for more info or a quote.
