18.01.2022 Here I am again. We achieved today three more steps in th blacksmith coursework, made the s hook finally, and a bar thingy and th circle to square to octagonal, where I first claimed that I had a disability and couldn’t see well enough to do it. A funny moment where I stamped my feet.
18.01.2022 I was asked to give this little project a go....again it's not a knife but a 'blanket/shawl brooch' made out of rebar that can also double as a self defense weapon....Will endeavour to refine it abit more to my style so that it is even more effective should that situation unfortunately arise... Pls disregard the dirty tea towel....& thanks for looking..... Note to self: shorten the spike!!!
13.01.2022 Made two more self-defense hairpieces last Friday out of rebar for my daughters....still needs refining etc to finish off....sadly I can't do any more forging now cos coke bucket is almost empty!!! :(

04.01.2022 Today was supposed to be Blacksmith Doris Day at the Barn....but with stage 4 restrictions still in place & the Barn closed, I used today as my Doris Day....so the gas forge was lit & I made another 2 sets of door pulls because I wasn't happy with the first sets that I made....just a few little things to take care of & they will be ready to go....hopefully my beautiful customer will be happy with these too....:)
04.01.2022 Darebin city council has made the decision to close Bundoora Park farm until further notice as a preventative measure in response to community concern about the spread of covid-19. This includes access to the barn, meaning that all forging days are cancelled til further notice - both Doris and general days. Stay safe, be kind to each other. These are small sacrifices we have to make in an uncertain time to protect our friends, family and wider community.
03.01.2022 Spent the afternoon trying to sweat my sickness away in front of the forge....as you can see - not a knife but a few more simple hairpieces & another penannular brooch all made from rebar....still need to tidy up & polish but not today....time to cook a roast pork!!! Haha....with the next ones made, I will endeavour to make them smaller & more refined....thanks for looking :)
