13.01.2022 We encourage all pregnant women to have their COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. If you know any pregnant women please show them this video of Dr Gauthami Bhagwanani, a Sydney obstetrician, who has been working with pregnant women infected with COVID-19 Delta strain.

11.01.2022 FLU VACCINE UPDATE We have been working around the clock to ensure we can give this years influenza vaccine safely to all our patients who are interested. We will be running flu shot clinics this coming Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. We will add more flu clinics if the demand remains and vaccine availability allows.... In order to ensure patient safety, we are having clinical staff speak to all patients on the phone first before coming for their vaccine. This way we can guarantee the patients coming to the clinic are considered low risk for COVID-19 and are currently well. We have limited over 65 age group vaccines available and have been offering these first to our highest risk patients. We have ordered more and are waiting for further stock to arrive, but do have limited available. We have a lot of the government funded 5-64 year old flu shots available. This is for anyone considered high risk of complications from influenza. These are free to those eligible and we will post the criteria in the next post. We have limited privately funded flu shots for the 5-64 year old flu shots. These are $20 to receive and are the same as those offered by the local chemists. We have limited 6 months to 4 year old free government vaccines for children. We are booking children in throughout the week due to the extra time it takes with the little ones. We have had multiple patients already contact the practice and shown interest. Our clinical staff are working hard to contact these patients back to offer them a safe time to come and get their vaccine. To show your interest in booking in for a flu shot this year, contact 0249714044 during open hours. Reception will take your name down and our clinical staff will endeavour to contact you all as soon as possible. We are early this season in getting the shots out there for patients - if anyone misses out this batch, it is definitely safe to wait til the next batch arrives. Please do not worry! There will be plenty to go around. We hope to see you all soon!

10.01.2022 Dr Brianna will be on maternity leave soon! Her last day will be Friday December 18th. Dr Michael will be working his usual hours until the 24th of December, closing for Christmas onwards. Dr Michael will then work half days on the 29th and 30th. The practice will be closed the 31st until... reopening Wednesday January 6th resuming normal hours with Dr Michael only. We appreciate your understanding during this time and wish you a safe holiday season See more

05.01.2022 Dogtor Koda was a big help today with Myself needing to work from home. Thankyou to all the patients for being understanding of the situation. My sniffle is gone and my COVID-19 swab is negative. I went to Laverty Belmont and it was over and done with very quickly, with results back within 24-48 hours. I am very grateful to the wonderful staff who have tested a lot of our patients. It is up to us all to get tested even for the smallest of symptoms and if you want further advice we are here to help on 0249714044 during office hours. At other times you can ring the National coronavirus line on 1800 020 080. After hours the best way to get tested is to present to the John Hunter Hospital which is open to 10pm for testing. Many thanks, Dr. Brianna

05.01.2022 There has been a confirmed case in the Port Stephens area. This person visited the Salamander Bay shopping centre on July 15th. There is also a warning for anyone who went to the Windsor Castle Hotel in East Maitland on July 13th. We will now be asking patients before coming to our practice if they have been to these new hot spots, or any others. If you have been, we will offer Telehealth initially and examine you safely later if needed. We ask all patients to please take care, social distance, wash hands regularly when out and remember we may be at the start of a second wave in our area. We hope you all stay safe in this time and please reach out to us on 0249714044 during office hours if you think you need testing or to make a booking for all your usual health needs. Many thanks

05.01.2022 We have had a few patients ask about asymptomatic testing for COVID-19. That is, when you are perfectly healthy, with no symptoms of any illness, if you should get tested. There have been some confusing messages out there about this on the radio and other media outlets. The current answer is that NSW Health are NOT recommending testing of asymptomatic people for COVID-19. Therefore if you have no symptoms and contact our practice or one of the local COVID-19 clinics you will ...NOT be offered a swab for COVID-19. However, if you are unwell with any fever or respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath), even if mild - you do need to get tested! The link below answers the question more throughly for anyone who wants to do their homework We hope this clears up this commonly asked question and we hope to see you all soon

04.01.2022 Change to practice hours : From Monday the practice will be open, but with reduced hours. Both doctors will be working the same hours below until further notice. Monday 8am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm... Tuesday 8am to 1pm, closed afternoon Wednesday 8am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm Thursday 8am to 1pm, closed afternoon Friday 8am to 1pm, 2pm to 5pm Saturday closed Sunday closed We have had a lot of appointments left empty and this is why we have reduced our hours. If demand increases we will aim to increase hours to make sure all our patients have medical support. We offer telehealth consults and face to face consults in practice to those who are well and able to come to the practice. For now we are not accepting new patients as we want to focus all our energy on keeping our existing patients cared for to the highest level possible. We ask all our patients to reach out in this time and book consults if they need it. Now is the most important time to be looking after your health, do not neglect your health needs! We want all our patients as healthy as possible and have made our practice a safe space to still receive medical attention when needed. We hope you are all helping loved ones and are keeping inside as much as possible in this crucial time for our community and Australia. Stay healthy all and we hope to see you soon.
