23.01.2022 Some fun facts about chickens

21.01.2022 After much exploration into animals, especially calves the Kindergarten and Platypus children were able to milk their own cow which they had made themselves. Using Gloves, some water, some string, masking tape, rice and boxes, the children made their own milking teet. The big question on the children's minds were why do we need the rice? Asked by one of the children, Miss Amanda explained that when we put the rice in the glove and add water, the water then drains out of th...e glove it creates cloudy looking water, Which can look like milk. So with the help of everyone they each had a turn at squeezing the water out of the glove just like they would milk a real cow. The most popular questioned asked was how do we get the chocolate milk? So we discussed how chocolate milk is made and how our regular milk is made. The children have really enjoyed exploring where milk comes from and the process of milking a cow. The children are excited to continue exploring where foods/drinks come from and how they are made. The Kindy and Little Lambs children have also enjoyed caring for the chickens, explored how to rake the coop to make it all clean for the chickens, feed them fresh water and gently touch them.

20.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS Our Calves have arrived this morning and we are soooo excited Our Junior Farmers Program will commence from this afternoon and we will commence weekend feeding for families in a few weeks to allow the calves to settle in properly. Our Calves are 1 week old, they are both Female, 1 is a Dairy Calf and 1 is an Angus Calf. ... We will also be holding a naming competition for them both so if you would like to take your vote please comment this below. The winner and the names of the calves will be announced this Friday. 17.01.2022 Early Childhood Educators' Day recognises and celebrates the work of Australia's educators in early learning services for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care. It's a chance to say thank you to Australia’s early childhood educators on a very personal level by service operators, families and their children, as well as collectively at the national level. This year Early Childhood Educators' Day will take place on Wednesday 2nd September.

11.01.2022 Mentoring Day for Vacation Care The Vacation Care children had an absolute blast this morning mentoring the younger children in the top playground. They each had a buddy who was chosen for them and they guided the younger children within the playground and role modeled safe behaviour and interaction with peers. They helped teach the younger children how to engage in play and explore different relationships and displayed a very warm, caring and affectionate manor towards the ...younger children All children explored developing safe, secure and supported relationships and learning how to interact in relation to others with care, empathy and respect Well done Vacation Care

02.01.2022 The Platypus and Kindergarten children have been embarking on a very creative adventure over the past few weeks exploring a range of different painting styles. The children have explored making their own Paint, Pipette Painting, Pendulum Painting, Salt Painting, Paint Press, Paint Toss, Painting on a clipboard hanging from a tree, paint flicking and flower painting. The children have had an absolute ball exploring the different textures and creative ways to explore art. The ...children have been developing their Colour mixing skills, colour recognition, problem solving and are continuing to further develop their creativity as they engage with more art experiences.
