23.01.2022 RECORD BREAKER ALERT Congratulations to BCSC swimmer 12yr old Kaylen Tweedie who has broken a BCSC club record in the 12yrs girls 50m Freestyle event. Kaylen has just broken a 23year old record previously held by Nicole Monk from 1997. Kaylen’s smashed it down the pool in a new time of 30.47, massive high five and huge congratulations to you Kaylen from all the BCSC Coaches and your fellow BCSC team mates

16.01.2022 Winter Club Night Week 5 : What a night with our swimmers firing up in their races and achieving new PBs. The highlight was definitely watching the 200m Individual Medley tonight, with some of our swimmers doing between 20 and 30 second PBs. Huge thank you to Coach Jo who painted up a storm this week for our club raffle and a huge thanks to the Eckert family , Coyne family and Pelham family for the yummy donations tonight. 16.01.2022 Friday Club Night 7th August 2020 What a success , our BCSC families rocked it tonight , you guys were amazing with following all the strict Covid rules that are in place , you all looked olalalala in your face masks. Our kids had an absolute smashing time in the pool with so so many of them achieving new personal best times. Well done to the McIntyre family who were the lucky winners of our club raffle , the cupcakes where a sell out and the support from all our families was amazing tonight. Huge shoutout to Gordon and Richard our technical officials and our wonderful committee the hard work you put in behind the scenes to make nights like tonight happen are so very much appreciated

15.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW: . Blacktown City Swimming Club has been at Blacktown Pool now for 59 years. . BCSC Club produced its very own Olympic Swimmer Michelle De Vries . Michelle Competed in 1976 at the Montreal Olympic Games at only 15 years of age.... . Michelle Competed in x3 events at these games. . Our Club house is named in honour after Michelle. . Australian Olympic Champion Kieren Perkins swam at Blacktown pool in 1992 and broke the Mens 800m World record in the Blacktown Pool. . Olympic swimmer Kenrick Monk used to train and compete for Blacktown City Swimming Club as a youngster and still holds to this day many Friday night club records. . Grant Cleland 5km FINA World Champion Open Water Swimmer also swam and trained at Blacktown pool and still holds many Friday Club night records. . Andrew Beato also competed on the International scene in the mens 5km at the 2010 Open Water World Championships as a Blacktown City Swimming Club swimmer, under Head Coach Chris Myers. . Blacktown pool is only one of a few pools in the whole of NSW that has x2 50m pools to train in. . 1x 50m Indoor Pool and 1 x 50m Outdoor Pool . Blacktown Squads train out of the Blacktown pool 52 weeks of the year. . Blacktown Club have a Winter Race Club and a Summer Race Club night season each year. . Race Nights are held on Friday Nights through out the year. . Blacktown Club have one of the most highly qualified technical officials here in Australia officiating at Friday club Nights each week (Faye Lewis) . Faye Lewis is one of a handful of accredited FINA technical officials here in Australia. . Faye has officiated all over the world with most recently officiating Katie Ledecky's race where she broke the womens 800m free record at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. . Blacktown Club is supported by a Dedicated group of Life members , Gordon Fenbow, Faye Lewis, Brian Hosford, Karen and Alan Walsh each week. . The BCSC Club is looked after and run by an amazing dedicated group of Committee Volunteers each week. . Blacktown City Swimming Club have had amazing support for the last 59 years from the Blacktown City Council which has allowed such inspirational stories as above to happen. . 14.01.2022 DAY 1 of our Senior Competitors racing at the Metro South West Senior Long Course Championships, with Dmitry, Ryan, Natalya, Anne, Angela, Mark, Hasala, Ezekiel, Helen, Mikayla, Oliver along with Chelsea and I. We all had a blast as we swam hard through all our races, and made many memories as we had fun throughout the day. 14.01.2022 BCSC Record Breaker : Congratulations to 10 year old BCSC swimmer Olivia Galea who after spending the first 4 months this year in a wheelchair with a full leg cast. And not returning to pool training until the 1st of June after a very serious leg break at Christmas has shown the swimming world what sheer determination, adversity, strength in mind body and spirit can do. After 6 months out of the water Olivia competed at club night on Friday Night and broke x2 long standing ...club records in the 10years girls . 100m Backstroke 1.20.60 (Previous Record held 1991: 1.20.75) . 200m Freestyle 2.30.07 (Previous Record held 1993: 2.32.59) Olivia you have never given up , you preserved through not only the pain and suffering of your injury but also not being able to be in the water and managing this all whilst in lockdown during the Covid outbreak. BCSC are so very proud of you and everything you have worked so hard at achieving. Well done sweety See more

11.01.2022 REGISTRATION 20/21 SEASON NOW OPEN: BCSC is a family club who is made up of local Blacktown swimmers ranging from 5yrs and above, training out of Blacktown Pool 12 months of the year. We nuture your swimmer through our 7 different squad levels in our program each week. Our focus is stroke correction, having fun and allowing your swimmer to be the very best they can be whilst reaching their individual goals of swimming at their school carnival or becoming a State or Australi...an National Swimmer. Our Friday night Race Nights run throughout the whole year with a Summer Season and a Winter season, giving you more Bang for your dollar $$$ with our low cost membership annual fees. As we are affiliated with Swimming NSW Friday Race nights are officiated which means your swimmers times become registered in the Australian swimming database, these can then be used by your school to register them in School Zone and Regional Competitions. Registrations can be completed through the Blacktown City Swimming Club Website: https://blacktowncity.swimming.org.au Use the JOIN NOW tab on this page!!!!!!! Our littlest Champions in the club can start off at 12m and 25m races to help them build confidence and have fun each week while making lifelong friends. Our Senior Legends can choose to race the longer distances on offer (E.G: 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m Races) whilst enjoying the experiences of developing new skills and forming bonded friendships within a team. Our First Race night for the new season will commence on Friday 9th October 2020, swimmers can enter up to 3 races each night with entries closing the night before on a Thursday 7pm each week. At the conclusion of our Race Nights of the summer season the club holds 5 Championship nights where swimmers will compete against there age/gender groups E.G 5yrs male, 5yrs female, 6yrs, 7yrs etc. With our swimmers being presented at the BCSC Annual presentation with a range of awards and trophies. In past years we have had special guest appearances from Australian Swimming Greats (Matt Wilson, Matt Abood, Kurt Herzog and Michelle De Vries). Due to current Covid restrictions there are limited numbers allowed in the indoor pool on race nights, so to avoid disappointment, please ensure to complete your registrations ASAP and before the 30th September 2020. 09.01.2022 Congratulations to Mark Eckert after being very nervous and loads of anxiety swam the 5Km for the very first time yesterday at the Nepean Open Water meet. Not only did Mark swim overcoming all those nerves but he absolutely smashed it and has now qualified for NSW State Open water which is being held in December at the SIRC. 07.01.2022 RECORD BREAKER ALERT!!!!!! A massive congratulations to 10year old Omar Khaliqi who smashed the BCSC 10years old male 200m Freestyle Record in a new time 2.28.99 last night at club. The record was previously held on the 16/01/1998 by former Olympic Swimmer Kenrick Monk who represented Australia at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympic Games. Well done Omar we are so excited by your determination to win and we enjoy watching you having loads of fun while you do it.
