22.01.2022 Introducing our new adoption program at Blacktown Veterinary Hospital! Our program aims to help find forever homes for the orphaned and street kittens that come into our veterinary care. We would like to provide our clients with the best kitten for them and to inform them on their pets lifelong commitment and the requirements that come with owning a kitten, such as yearly vaccinations and health checks. ... If you are missing your furry friend, please always remember to check the local animal holding facility. Microchipping is super important in helping ensure that animal facilities can get your pet back to you if they ever stray too far from home. It’s also a legal requirement in NSW to microchip once your pet is 12weeks old but that is for ano...ther post. If you ever lose your pet, follow the below steps to increase your chances of finding them and getting them home: - Call all local vets. Leave your name, number and a description of your pet. - Door knock your neighbours. This sounds strange in our current modern world of technology but logically, the first place your pet may have hidden is in your neighbours backyard. - Visit/Call the local animal holding facility. - POST Everywhere! Get on the local (and statewide) lost and found groups. Politely message the admins to explain your situation and give a photo that identifies your pet well. - Ask friends and family to share your posts far and wide. As well as microchipping, ensuring that your pet is wearing a collar with their name and your phone number in will definitely help to make sure they get home soon.
