11.01.2022 Are you someone that is good all week, only for everything to unravel on the weekend? For years, I was in the cycle of being good all week, until the weekend rolled aroundthen, I would go cray cray on booze and food. What I now know, is that my increase in binging/overeating behavior on the weekends had NOTHING to do with willpower, but was a natural physiological response to the restriction that I was imposing on myself during the week. ... When I removed all of the diet rules and restrictions and ate the same during the week as I did on the weekends, suddenly food no longer had a pull over me Food became something that I could enjoy again because I was not constantly beating myself up. Suddenly, it no longer consumed my every waking moment, and instead it was a small part of my life, a nice one too! And what I now know from working with other women (who feel ruled by food), is that giving yourself unconditional permission to eat all foods IS what leads to food freedom, and surprisingly far more control than ever! So what foods do you only allow yourself to eat on weekends? What if you tried having this food during the week when you really feel like it? 09.01.2022 I just feel uncomfortable in my body This is what I hear from so many ladies when we speak about why they want to lose weight. But the truth is, weight loss is almost NEVER the thing that creates a feeling of being comfortable in your skin. I know this from my own experience and from now working with hundreds of women.... Feeling comfortable in your body is a mindset. And this mindset is (for most of us) built around a set of beliefs that we have been socialized to believe as women The super exciting and empowering news is that you have the power to feel comfortable in your body, just by changing your mindset and beliefs! I encourage you to think about where your feelings of being uncomfortable are coming from. Is it because of what you think you should look like? I want to leave you with this...your body is not the problem! It never was The problem is that society has made you feel like you are not good enough as you are. 09.01.2022 Why is it that I can’t bring myself to exercise? Why can’t I stop binging on chocolate? Why can’t I eat only when I’m hungry? When talking to clients and people generally, one of the most frustrating things I hear from them is their feeling of inability to take action. They have goals. They want so badly to make changes. They want to take action (or stop taking an action). They try to do what they need to do, but they just can’t get themselves to do it. ... My reminder to you is We can control our thoughts, our feelings, our actions and in turn, our results. If you are struggling with overeating for example, take some time to think about the thoughts and feelings you have immediately beforehand. Write them down. Are you feeling anxious, stressed, bored, frustrated, self loathing? Now think about what is causing those feelings? The most common mistake people make is trying to change the action without first changing the thought or feeling that is driving the action When you change the thought and feeling, changing the action becomes so much easier Are you struggling to change your thoughts?
