24.01.2022 Next term, students in Years 4, 5 and 6 will be asked to participate in the Engagement and Wellbeing Survey. We know that wellbeing and engagement are important parts of your child’s life at school. The Engagement and Wellbeing Survey pilot is a new tool designed to measure how Queensland students view aspects of their wellbeing and engagement. This is the first trial of the survey and is only available to select schools across Queensland. The survey is voluntary and will t...ake students approximately 30 minutes to complete during class time. A parent information letter will be sent out next term. Find out more and view Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) online at: https://qed.qld.gov.au//st/engagement-and-wellbeing-survey

17.01.2022 This morning we were visited by the Giant Kookaburra and its creator, sculptor Dr Farvardin Daliri. The kookaburra is made from a steel structure with bamboo covering and took 5 months to make. It sings and it laughs and it blew us a-Wey! Dr Daliri started this project during the Coronavirus lockdown, on a mission to make people smile. This native Australia bird is the only bird in the world that laughs. Dr Daliri says, Laughter is therapeutic and a kookaburra’s laugh is co...ntagious; everyone joins in and I want to drive around to cheer up the whole town. Thanks for stopping in to visit us and thanks to Central Highlands Regional Council for organising this for our region! #giantkookaburra #weystreetwellbeing

09.01.2022 Over the next few weeks, we will be posting #weyhandyhints for our school community as we start another year. We hope you find them helpful! #weyhandyhint number 1: School Calendar As we countdown to the start of school, we would like to share this year’s school calendar. Attending school every day is important because students are more likely to succeed when they attend school consistently. It's difficult for a student to build their skills if they are frequently absent. For this reason we ask the parents take the school calendar into consideration when planning holidays, to ensure that they occur within the designated holiday periods and not during valuable learning time.

09.01.2022 1/2B designed cereal boxes, and today they tested their designs. Most of them met the purpose of a cereal box: to hold cereal securely!
