03.01.2022 Many enquiries of late asking if Black Wattle Retreat is still open. YES IT IS. No denying that things have been challenging. July 21, 2019 is a date emblazoned on my mind as it was the last day The Log Cabin stood proud and welcoming. An uncaring guest left a towel over the heater in the bathroom which caused a fire. By the time I tried to put it out it was too late. On my own, I could not deal with the ferocity of this fire fanned by wind. Within 45 minutes the cabin was e...ngulfed. There is now an empty pad where the cabin once stood. However I power on. The Goose House now upgraded takes pride of place. New curtains new rugs new cushions and new air con make this the coolest little cabin. The yard is securely enclosed for dogs and the veranda seating encourages you to grab a book and sit in nature. The Belvedere is great for groups or just two who enjoy a bit more space. I am always updating furnishings. Its my passion. Fresh new doona covers abound! The 3 glorious Guest suites at the main house always include my famous breakfasts and no one ever leaves hungry. So my loyal followers I ask you to consider a short break at Black Wattle Retreat. Come back, rediscover, be reinvigorated by the bush, sit on that balcony and catch a breeze and have your senses heightened with the smells wafting from my kitchen.
