23.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Blackwood is delighted to have the first of three "Free Community Book Exchange Libraries" installed in the arcade of the Magnet Shopping Centre. Thanks to the generous donation of initial books and CDs by South Pacific School Aid. The bookshelf sits alongside the Blackwood Rotary garden seat that was installed there in 1995, demonstrating our commitment to Community Service.

19.01.2022 Happy 50th Birthday Rotary Club of Blackwood! Thank you to all the members and guests who joined our long lunch today at the Blackwood Golf Course. We shared many stories from the decades. Thank you Helen for hosting as MC, you did an outstanding job! What a great achievement to our club!!

18.01.2022 With the inability of our Rotary Club to raise money through our normal fundraisers there is a need ot find alternatives whee we can do things other than put our hands in our own pockets. Beacon is a local charity that has had an increase in demand for its services in 2020, in particular for emergency Food aid. Local schools were contacted with a view to putting collection boxes for grocery items in them in the 4th term. While these sorts of activities are often run in the le...ad up to Christmas, there is an opportunity to run them at other times. Three local Primary schools, Coromandel Valley, Bellevue Heights and Eden Hills were willing to assist and the boxes went out at the beginning of term 4. The response was really fantastic and a trailer load of product has been delivered to Beacon. Other schools may be able to help in 2021

Also included are some of h...er favourite souvenirs: medals from the Danish queen’s guard given to her by someone in her rotary club, a name tag from LEGOland which she visited, and a mask from Venice. 07.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Blackwood would like to thank all those who donated books to and bought books at our book sale on Saturday last. Our sales significantly exceeded our expectations and helps us meet our ongoing commitments to the community. Next week we will be presenting scholarships to Year 12 students at Blackwood High School.
