25.01.2022 My feet hurt! I'm hoarse! Must be from all that singing and dance floor action with the AWESOME BJORN AGAIN!!! Best ever Blackwood 8 function-wow-what a night!!Beautiful tributes from Candice Wyatt and Ben White -both who lost their mums to brain cancer and had such courage and dignity sharing their stories. A few tears early and then passionate and generous bidding from our amazing supporters....you guys blew us away! Then we brought it home strongly and loudly with a packe...d dance floor and just so much love in the room! This is what it is all about... 21.01.2022 Amidst all the excitement of getting ready for the Gala Ball tonight we are certainly feeling a tinge of sadness-this will be the first Ball without the beautiful Sally White.She was the reason Blackwood 8 was conceived and the reason why we have worked so hard to raise money to help find a cure for Brain Cancer. 14.01.2022 Blackwood 8 have been very lucky to receive a cheque for $2300 from The Grand Hotel in Warrandyte being from the proceeds of the weekly raffle. 12.01.2022 Wow is all I can say this morning!! What a fabulous night at the Blackwood 8Gala Ball last night. Our engaging MC kept the night running smoothly and was all about it with the gags! The beautiful and very inspiring Bec Lucas was amazing -and yes, one person can make a difference-your dad would be so very proud Bec. A/Prof Kerrie McDonald once again brilliantly let us know about the work that her and her dedicated team are doing in the labs to try and find a cure for brain c...ancer-they are making headway and are tireless in their efforts! The Fabulous Baker Boys go by their name and indeed rocked the house!! But once again we are totally and completely in awe of you -340 generous and excited people in the room, all there to have fun and all there to support Blackwood 8. 10.01.2022 Wow - what a night!! another fabulous Gala organised and executed by the brilliant Blackwood 8! MC Marcus Barber kept the night moving along beautifully, the hilarious Brian Nankervis was just that-hilarious and very entertaining, Professor Terry Johns was excellent and the band absolutely rocked the house. But our biggest thanks has to go to you all - our amazing and very very generous supporters who, by all accounts, not only had a great time but dug deep to support the challenge that is Brain cancer. Every year we are blown away by your generosity and enthusiasm for our events. Thank you so much - you are indeed brilliant.xx( now, time for a nanna nap!!)

Brain Cancer research advocate Candace Wyatt (the newsreader ...with Channel 10) will also be on stage to chat about her mums journey and the impact Brain Cancer has had on her family. Some of the auction items include a ridiculously gorgeous mens gold watch (photos coming soon) and a delightful diamond and sapphire white gold dress ring. Oh and lets not mention Bjorn Again. 01.01.2022 7 years ago Blackwood 8 was started as a way to help our beautiful friends David and Sally White when Sal was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Yesterday afternoon we said goodbye to Sal as this terrible disease took her life. We are devastated by the loss of such a beautiful, courageous and caring lady. Because of her B8 has raised close to half a million dollars for brain cancer research. She bas been an inspiration to many. Our love and thoughts are with David and her gorgeous boys Josh and Ben at this very sad time.xxx
