25.01.2022 Kindergym Update 20/03/19 As a valued user of our Kindergym service, we are writing to inform you about changes to the Kindergym classes you and your child attend. Our board met last night and decided to continue the Gymsport classes for the time being, but for health and safety reasons some restrictions will now apply. Unfortunately, this means we are cancelling Kindergym classes for the rest of term 1. We are no longer allowing parents/caregivers to enter the hall to try an...d minimise potential risks to other user groups. If you have paid for the term, a $36 credit will be applied to your account towards term 2 fees. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding at this difficult time. We will update you on when the Kindergym classes will restart over the coming days and weeks. See more

For those of you who have come in to Blackwood KinderGym on Thursdays within the last year or so, youd have met our lovely KinderGym leader Cat (Cat & Carol alternate taking Thursdays...before Covid-19..), so Cat is one our Blackwood KinderGym family...whilst she trains at (many, many hours a week!) & represents a sister Gymnastics SA club - Aelita Rhythmic Gymnastics in competitive rhythmic gymnastics. Gymnastics Australia have just an...nounced the Australian 2019 GymSport Awards for Rhythmic Gymnastics, which includes the Australian Levels Gymnast of the Year and its Catherine Lyndon! In awe of this exceptional young lady, fab achievement!!

22.01.2022 Good News! KinderGym classes commence on Tuesday 21/07/2020 in our new revamped Gymnastics Hall, whilst maintaining the COVID-19 guidelines and protocols recommended by the Government and Gymnastics Australia. To enable KinderGym classes to proceed, all Children & Parent/Adults attending need to follow this process to enter the centre for their class: ALL attendees will need to bring A LARGE TOWEL (large enough for you and your child to sit on) & their own water bottle. No... towel, no group time. Arrive on time for your class. If you are early, could you please wait in your car until 5 mins before the session is due to start, to avoid congestion in the foyer. Parent and child are to sanitize hands before entering, and also on exiting the Gym Hall, which will be provided. Baskets will be provided in the Gym hall for all belongings, including shoes, bags and phones. No prams will be allowed in the Gym Hall. No food, drinks or snacks to be brought into the Gym Hall (water is permitted) Classes are to be entered and exited punctually, to allow for seamless transitions and cleaning practices. Recommend the use of the COVIDsafe app. There will be a few changes to the normal structure including some equipment not usable due to cleaning requirements. Classes will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays mornings. Max 15 bookings per class (15 children with 1 parent/adult accompanying each child totalling 30 members per session). Recommendations state that 1 grown up or adult to 1 participating child attend classes. No make-up sessions will be offered for Term 3. If you or your child is feeling unwell, have any Covid-19 symptoms or displaying Flu like symptoms, please do not attend classes. Bookings for classes are available through the online booking system (Families new to Blackwood KinderGym will need to initially phone The Rec Centre to enrol & book). Cost for Term 3 will be $120.00 for the 10 week term and $10.00 GSA registration fee. We thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we work through re-establishing the Kindergym Program here at the Blackwood Recreation centre. If you ordered a t-shirt for your child in terms 1 or 2, & are not currently enrolled in term 3, ordered tshirts will be available for collection from tomorrow at the front counter at the Rec Centre. (Harry C - I DO have your t-shirt, will give to grandma on Tues, sorry!) Please try to only collect on a weekday, in mornings 9am - 12 (And remember to follow social distancing & hygiene practices whilst at the Rec Centre). Those enrolled in term 3, & have ordered, well have your shirt in class. 07.01.2022 While we are closed, weve been busy bees behind the scenes - the gymnastics hall is being rearranged by us coaches (no more walking over the air track to get to the blue sprung floor- yippee!). And we have moved KGs storage space to the other end of the storeroom - what was my storage room is now partly a locker room for shoes & bags. Heres a behind-the-scenes look at KinderGyms new storeroom (..not that u really saw the old one ...it was a bit of a OH&S nightmare!!...) - you might recognise some items! p.s.- Giant Bear looks a bit grumpy, think hes missing children to play with . One day soon Mr Bear, patience..

07.01.2022 Another fun week of KinderGym coming up! If you ordered a t-shirt in the 1st half of this term (or before!) they are awaiting collection at the Reception counter (you can now pop in anytime that Blackwood Rec Centre is open, to collect). REMINDER to EVERYONE, please dress your children appropriately for KinderGym classes (our t-shirts are not compulsory - just cute!), please wear any leggings/trackie pants, shorts, t-shirts, polo tops etc, i.e.- clothes that the children ca...n easily move in. Bare feet are a must so no tights with feet. Tight jeans or tops, dresses & skirts below the thigh, jewelry & long loose hair, etc are a hindrance when climbing & exploring so these are not to be worn to class. Ensure long hair, or hair falling into the face, is tied up. Is your child overdressed? - adults standing around may feel the need to have on a winter coat some days - the children are moving, climbing, rolling, jumping, running, swinging, exploring and won't have the same need of jumpers and coats whilst in class (definitely need them after class some days!) as their excercise warms them. So go find a big clean towel, locate your kids waterbottles - & ready! set! GO to KinderGym!! PLEASE READ the below points - to refresh us all on procedures. And if someone other than you is taking your child to class, please ensure that person is fully aware of the below:... (There’s also a new QR code check-in requirement which we’re still clarifying the how’s - but I’ll have manual contact tracing sheets tomorrow, so don’t fret about the app if you haven’t yet downloaded.) EVERYONE PLEASE READ!: ....boring but VERY important to keep our community safe: bring a clean large towel to every class (& child’s sticker passport book). once class full, NO casuals, so PLEASE book online/phone PRIOR to class. Casuals, please call the Rec Centre morning OF YOUR CLASS to check availability & book your spot. adult to remain within arms reach of participant at all times. adults, look after your own safety as well as your child - watch out on our wobbly wobbly squishy dippy floors! bare feet for children whilst in class. appropriate clothing for children (nothing tight, no dresses/skirts unless high hem with leggings or shorts under, hair clipped out of eyes, long hair tied back, & no jewellery please). all belongings, including phones & devices, bags, children’s shoes & socks, etc to go into provided baskets at start of class. No photography in class without permission. please sanitise your & your child’s hands on entering and on leaving the Gymsports hall. only water allowed in Gymsports hall (no food or other drinks to be consumed). Feel free to use our tables in foyer after class, for byo or bought snacking. all children/babies who are not in slings/carriers/carried must be registered. No prams allowed in Gymsports hall (we do have a pram parking bay for empty prams). please adhere to social distancing whilst in centre. Adults need to also socially distance themselves whilst IN class. Adhere by physical distancing guidelines of 1.5 metres away from others. If waiting for class to open & when you leave the Gymsports hall, ensure your child respects all other RecCentre users space too please. if you, your child, or anyone in your family/household is unwell AT ALL, or showing COVID19 symptoms, please stay home, & get tested. We can do stickers! We will ask parents to assist their child - please try to refrain from doing - KinderGym has sticker books partly because sticking stickers is such a tricky but important fine motor skill! You all should have received an email from Blackwood Recreation Centre today confirming our COVID closure - sent to the email address registered on your Blackwood Rec Gymnastics online registration app (WellnessLiving) - please check your spam/junk, or check which email is registered on the app -under Profile Details, if you didn't receive an email. It reads: Blackwood GymSports Update with COVID 19 Closure... Dear , It is with great sadness and frustration that we have been given a direction by the State Government to close the centre again due to the Covid 19 outbreak here in Adelaide. This means that all Gymsports classes will be cancelled for Kindergym, GFA, WAG Squads, MAG Squads and Trampoline. Credits will be applied to your Wellness account for any classes missed during this period of closure. 01.01.2022 **Blackwood Recreation Centre CLOSING from Midnight on Monday 16th November 2020** Dear KinderGym families, Blackwood Recreation Centre will close at midnight on Monday 16th November 2020 and remain shut for up to 2 weeks until or until advised otherwise by the State Government. The closure is a government requirement, and is part of measures to combat the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The decision was made on Monday 16th November 2020 at 3:00pm by the State Governmen...t. These new rules apply to all indoor Sport, Recreation and Fitness centres in South Australia. The health and wellbeing of our members and staff is always our top priority. Although we will not be open to the public for up to two weeks we’ll be using our Facebook and Instagram pages to stay connected with you. We understand this is a worrying time and many of you will be concerned and disappointed. But please try to view this as an important and positive step to help us stop the spread of COVID-19.
