Cowboy has really begun to show some major improvements in accepting laterals in trot, leg aids in trot and speed adjusting while remaining calm and relaxed, this is a big step for tense and hot minded horses like mr CB! 19.01.2022 First day down in state champs, super happy with how we are going.. few little moments but overall I’m stoked, 1B & C down with 68.7% and 66.4% and getting an 8... on our lengthened trot which was a highlight photos from 1B. 16.01.2022 Results: TDC T-shirt Dressage and Hack show Overall super proud of all the ponies, especially Aroura who went the entire day non stop but gave it her absolute ...all until the end. Words can not explain how wonderful competing on a horse you put all the blood, sweat, work and tears into, and especially working to elementary looking back a year ago I wouldn’t of dreamt of coming this far with potato lonngg way to go but hard work pays off. Pretzel had her 2nd dressage comp and beyond proud of the little pony and she took the surroundings well and even with a short warm up worked her little heart out. With Aroura, we ended up winning: -1st JNR Novice with 66.852% -1st JNR Elementary with 64.621% -1st Novice Hack -1st Open Hack over 16hh -Champion Hack and a very close Supreme -Reserve Champion Rider -1st Hack Mares -1st Educated hack -1st Childs Hack -2nd Led Mare Tiny disappointed in the novice test just due to rider error not knowing the test well enough and not hearing caller, so didn't hit all the marks I was hoping for bbuutt proud none the less! Elementary I was very very happy with, even with hitting an 8 for canter and counter canter serpentine and scoring 7's for all collective marks. Hunter did his first ever show and I couldn't be more of a proud big sister. With Mr Rowdy he got: -Reserve Champion pony -1st pony gelding -1st pony gelding led -2nd rider class. And straight after he wanted to discuss his next lesson and wouldn't stop talking about the show over dinner what a proud sister. Even went on a trail ride with his friend yesterday when I was at work!! Pretzel in her led class got: -1st Led Galloway mare -Reserve Champion led Galloway But unfortunately due to a lack of girth.. Paige couldn't ride her in the ridden classes. Castiel was booked in for a fully show day but due him deciding it would be even more fun to try to slice his lip off, he is at home all stitched up and in box rest. And Last but certainly not least, beyond Proud of Madonna and Cowboy for doing their first ever led hack show and getting the rainbow encouragement ribbon! He is looking just amazing xx To top it all off I had an amazing lesson with PVS Training Warmblood Stud - Nth Qld at Pamela's Townsville Clinic yesterday! Show season is almost at an end, but to think Aroura and I started this year completing our first prelim test, and ending competing elementary and begin the training of medium is insane. I couldn't of asked for a a more willing and trustworthy team mate. Definitely a one in a million mare. 13.01.2022 Horse in Training - CB Cowboy had his first day of bootcamp starting today! His owner, Madonna Hawken has done an incredible job at bringing him to where ...he is today and it is a pleasure to see her amazing progress every lesson! Today was very productive and started his training by releasing tension in his neck and shoulders by encouraging a lower and more relaxed frame without the rush - using exercises such as Quarters out and in on circle with a looser rein, asking for a longer neck with more exaggerated bend, then moving to a leg yield off the circle. Tested out some exercises I picked up from Pedro Torres from his master class in Melbourne in regards to tense and rushy horses and the results were wonderful. Taking 5 pages of typed notes was totally worth it We testing out how he would react when asking to counter flex, leg yield, quarters in, quarters out.. all to help open shoulders and relax base of neck. Super happy with day one and all the incredible work Madonna has put in!!

04.01.2022 After school lessons today for the youngest students, Summer, Buddy and Jada! Summer and Buddy (ages 3 and 6) have outgrown the little lead line arena and now testing out the front grass arena riding Rowdy! Summer has been practicing her rise trot and off line work, and Buddy is practising his "aeroplane wings" and balance on the lead line. Jada rode Aroura today and smashed it! Lovely canter work and even nailed a walk-canter trans after practising how to pick up leads! Best students ever! 04.01.2022 *Product Review* Mane Event Winter Charcoal Tights After being completely blown away by the MEES riding tight range I thought Id share around my thoughts on this product. ... Equestrian winters can be tough. In Townsville, its more of a break from the scorching summer but in the early mornings and evenings of winter, it become hard to stay comfortable. Having tried layering and thick breeches to keep warm, it becomes frustrating with the lack of freedom and movement, especially when riding. Having tried some popular brands of riding tights/leggings, I was yet to find anything that fit me well and didnt slip until I tried MEES. The first chilly morning of winter, i popped on the MEES winter tights and thanks to the Thermotech material, the tights were no bulkier than the summer range, but kept my legs ridiculously cozy and warm. It was truly like a second skin, and due to the four way stretch and contoured design youll properly never see me training in anything else! Riding multiple horses everyday, and caught red handed when I say I may wear the same pair a few days in a row, the moisture-wicking, breathable and antibacterial keeps the tights fresh until I swap to my next pair. The tights also features a large phone pocket on the thigh so it doesnt dig into your hips while riding, very safe position in falls and easily accessible. Honestly can not recommend these tights and the rest of the MEES range enough. You really wont know until you try them. I promise youll never go back! 04.01.2022 Buggez BugEyes "Meet the Athletes" PAIGE & BRONTE BLACKWOOD Paige and Bronte Blackwood are a pair of identical 16 year old twins based in Townsville, QLD. ... Paige and Bronte and their team consisting of their Warmblood Mare, Aroura; Anglo Arab Gelding, Castiel; Quarter Horse/Paint filly, Pretzel; and Welsh A gelding, Rowdy, compete predominantly in Dressage and Hacking, and occasionally showjumping and gymkhanas. When not training and competing, Paige and Bronte operate their photography business PBEquine photography together, and give riding lessons to young pupils. Over the recent show season, the girls have acquired a long list of achievements in a variety of associations including PCAQ, ACPC, NQEG along with various inter school competitions. The girls have big plans for the rest of the current show season, and next show season. And you will no doubt see them sporting their Buggez Bugeyes products! I'm sure you can agree, they are a pair of very ambitious teenage girls who are wise beyond their years!
