25.01.2022 Pâté is my bestie today. You see, offal is apparently twice as nutritious as steak and eating the whole animal is a good thing to do. But I'm having trouble amending my ways. Thankfully, there's pâté. I can do pâté. Pâté's my friend. Look at me being a good little ethical meat eater... ; The recipe's the one I did on the blog a while back, but with @featherandboneprovidore chicken bits (search pate on blahblahmagazine )

25.01.2022 My solution to once bitten twice shy fruit. Dehydration! My kids are going through the phase of loving one type of fruit one week and disowning it the next. Except if I cut it up and dry it and they'll demolish it. I wonder if I can slip some broccoli in the mix ;) The simplest way is to preheat a fan forced oven to 50 70 deg C/130-160 deg F (this is just after the pilot light goes on). Cut the fruit thinly, taking out any bruises or blemishes along the way. Place on racks or trays with baking paper for about 6 hours for pears, bananas and apples (I won't do the mandarins again - they took too long and I forgot to pay attention to the time after 10 hours, which is just a waste of electricity).

22.01.2022 I love the honesty and love in this video of a tiny house builder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAp3bsOzXy0

22.01.2022 'To see a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower. Hold infinity in the palms of your hand and eternity in an hour.' William Blake. Have a wonderful weekend x

21.01.2022 I'm curious what this week will hold for me, exciting times, but first, coffee. What chunks of goodness are coming up for you?

18.01.2022 This little family is about to take the biggest leap of our lives. In an effort to live more aligned with our whys, we've just sold the family home and we're moving to an old orchard on the river, just outside of Sydney. This will involve the mad adventure of living in a house boat while our shipping container home is built. It's 90 percent exciting and the last 10 percent gives me butterflies in the stomach, while I hope for a gentle landing. I'd love to hear about your big leaps, it'll make me feel better x

18.01.2022 Chicken soup for the soul. Thank you @flashba99 for keeping my tummy warm on cold, cold winter's days.

18.01.2022 Time to quickly use up the sad and lonely vegetables before our next @oooobysyd box arrives and fills the fridge again! This is the fabulous Salmon and baked coleslaw with an aioli dressing inspired by @_sarahwilson_ and #simplicious What's your fave way to use up the stray vegetables?

15.01.2022 Two things that amaze me about parenthood that shouldn't surprise me, but still do. 1. How fast children grow 2. How they just don't feel the cold. Two things I didn't know 1. How fluid we are as humans. In him, I can see the man, standing tall and the baby I held in the palm of my hand with fingernails the size of grains of rice. 2. A crazy sense of adventure is inheritable and the curiosity that goes with it can be both endearing and mindbending... Now, I'd like to issue a formal apology to my parents for asking 'but why?' quite so often... But, perhaps, a THANK YOU!! is more appropriate, because they never quashed my curiousity and for that I'm ridiculously grateful. Anyone else had similar realisations?

15.01.2022 Strange fruit still life... This is what happens when the littlest is suddenly tall enough to reach the fruit - little bites taken out of every apple in sight. Might be time to pull the dehydrator out or perhaps make some more stray fruit jam x

14.01.2022 Mona Vale Beach. Where I first learned to surf. Might be time to get back out in the water. Happy weekend lovely peeps x

12.01.2022 Kombucha that, baby. Inspired by the awesome @cultureclubbing. Apple for our sweet-toothed poppet and ginger to ward off the bugs of winter and to remind me of my childhood. My mum made the best ginger beer. I was lucky enough to snaffle a kombucha starter scoby from @eggoftheuniverse (they sell them, but you have to be quick!) and a recipe from the king of fermentation @sandorkraut Now, we have a big urn on permanent ferment duties, but all you really need is some starter, tea, sugar and a jar and let the culture magic up some for you x

11.01.2022 This is the post I wrote about my husband's bike accident and may have included a random photo of strangers cuddling, because... http://blahblahmagazine.com.au/recover-from-a-bike-accident/

08.01.2022 Minimising my wardrobe to fit into our tiny home and tape is starting to look like a valid option. School pick up could be interesting...

07.01.2022 And relax... Weekend. Thank you x

02.01.2022 We'll be moving into a tiny cabin with our two boys for a while and this article has helped me get my head around it. http://lifeedited.com/how-to-make-a-one-bedroom-apartment-/
