25.01.2022 We are now supplying to eggs to Kendenup Lodge and Chalets, Plantagenet Hotel and Mario’s Stockfeeds. We are really happy to have them on board. You can also still get my eggs from, The Grocery Store, Plantagenet Meats, IGA Mount Barker, AVEG, Solomon Merchants, Teede & Co and Reeves on Campbell. All these businesses are a joy to be a part of. We have loved being able to supply to them and to you all for just over a year now and we look forward to many more years to come.

24.01.2022 Dad and I have been busy building a new chick room for the next lot of chicks that will be arriving soon. The last lot of chicks that arrived are now 3 weeks of age and are feathering up nicely. So excited to be able to share where our vision is heading as we move towards more ethical farming practices.

23.01.2022 Have you tried the new wine and food bar at the bottom of York Street in Albany? If not, have a look for it, it’s amazing. We are so happy to have Loft 22 join our small family business in using our eggs in their kitchen.

21.01.2022 Due to Covid19 so many shows have been cancelled, meaning I haven’t been able to show off my breeds. I also missed out on going to Nationals in Sydney to help with stewarding and judging. The good news is, it gives me an extra year to get all my breeds ready for next years shows. I’m loving my silver Barnevelders and my gold Barnevelders thanks to Fontana Barnevelders over east. I also love my Light Sussex, their size is awesome.

20.01.2022 I will just plonk myself here. Zeus thinks the left over grain is a good place to sit, this doesn’t deter the chooks from eating around him though.

20.01.2022 I have 1 young Light Sussex Pullet, forty dollars, and 1 young roo for twenty dollars. Please message if interested.

13.01.2022 The Dome is up and it’s new residents have moved in, 500 girls arrived on Friday. This give me over 1000 hens for the egg laying side of things. Snow has the job of looking after them. the girls are still getting used to being on green grass, so they don’t move far from the dome but won’t take them long.

09.01.2022 One of my favourite desserts. Make your best chocolate cake recipe or packet mix, as long as you use Blake’s Chooks & Eggs eggs. Once cooked let cool, you will need a large tin of peaches, whipped cream and drinking chocolate. ... On the cooled cake, place the drained peaches to the top of the cake is, it needs to be covered all over. Whip the cream and add 3 or 4 tablespoons of drinking chocolate, then place on top of the peaches and smooth over, also over the sides of the cake. Then serve. Delish
